Earlier today Donald said he’s KEEPING Pete Hegseth as his Defense Sec.
Now?
(I’m onnthe record as saying Hewgseth IS GONE….Sooner or not much later)
“Much of the post-midterms speculation about potential Cabinet shuffles has centered on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, a key architect of Trump’s unpopular war with Iran who is already shaping up to be a top target of congressional Democrats,” the Associated Press reports.
“Trump told reporters on Wednesday that he is not considering replacing Hegseth.. Hegseth has also been talked about as a potential appointed senator in Tennessee, where incumbent Sen. Marsha Blackburn, a Republican, won the governor’s race on Tuesday and could pick her interim successor.”
Said Trump: “I actually think he’d be very popular if he did that.”
“President Trump has been asking advisers around him and on the phone whether Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth should stay in his job, following Republicans’ catastrophic losses Tuesday night,” CBS News reports.

Trump: Hegseth would be ‘very popular’ as Tennessee senator
CBS News reported Wednesday that Trump has been asking advisers and allies whether Hegseth should stay in the post following the midterms.
Hegseth, a former Army National Guard major, is interested in the open Tennessee Senate seat and has been campaigning behind the scenes for the post, The Hill previously reported.
“I think he’s doing a very good job, and I actually think he’d be very popular if he did that. But I haven’t heard that at all,” Trump said Wednesday when asked whether he would want the Defense secretary to fill Blackburn’s seat.

“President Donald Trump may have made the decision to launch the war that tanked voters’ support for the GOP and dealt them a midterm shellacking. But the historic losses are accelerating a push for someone else to take the fall: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth,” CNN reports.
“And the House could vote as soon as next week to impeach the Pentagon’s top leader.”
“Many Republican lawmakers and allies alarmed by Tuesday’s wipeout are moving swiftly to pin blame for the election results on Hegseth, arguing behind the scenes that he played a chief role in convincing Trump to attack Iran with no exit strategy — and no plan for managing the inevitable political fallout.”
Defiant Pete Hegseth Says He’ll Fight ‘Sham Articles Of Impeachment’
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth vowed to fight “sham articles of impeachment” amid increasing pressure following the Republican Party’s midterms wipeout.
Hegseth posted a bizarre video to social media shortly after Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) told CNN he’ll introduce articles of impeachment against the Trump administration official when Congress resumes its session next week.
“A disgruntled, defeated congressman, along with all his Democrat allies, has also dropped sham articles of impeachment against yours truly,” Hegseth said.
He added the “politics of personal destruction” failed against President Donald Trump and “it won’t work with me.”
Hegseth’s future in Trump’s cabinet is reportedly at risk since he was a vocal champion of the war in Iran, which has proven to be electoral poison.
Hegseth is not under consideration as jockeying begins for Tennessee Senate seat, AP source says
…Hegseth has also surfaced as a potential replacement, with his future uncertain after Republicans’ sweeping losses in the midterm elections. But Hegseth is not currently being considered for the seat, according to a person familiar with the matter who discussed the private conversations on condition of anonymity.
The person said Blackburn is focused on her transition to the governorship and dismissed speculation about appointing Hegseth to the Senate seat as baseless chatter….
