‘Wasn’t Me’…. who sent the crowd to tear up the Capitol and attempt to hang my Vice President if he didn’t throw the election to me?
Oh?
And I made sure to REWARD those people who where CONVICTED of the violence, poropterty destroyed and contributed to death’s from their actions….
I told them to go ‘in Peace’?….
Isn’t Donald being PERSONALLY SUED by a whole lot of the victum’s of his crowds efforts?
Don’t mattre how many time ytou try toi lie your way out?
WE KNOW what the ‘deal’ was that day….
President Donald Trump, on the fifth anniversary of his failed coup attempt to cling to power after losing the 2020 election, yet again falsely claimed he had nothing to do with the violence that left 140 police officers injured and five dead.
“In my speech — ‘peacefully and patriotically to the Capitol, peacefully and patriotically.’ Do you know that the unselect committee didn’t report it, that I said those words?” he said Tuesday, referring to the House Jan. 6 committee that detailed Trump’s attempts to remain in office despite having lost the election by 7 million votes. “Do you know that the news never reported the words, ‘walk or march peacefully and patriotically to the Capitol.’ You know, they never reported it.”
He then blamed former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for the violence that day for not wanting the 10,000 troops Trump says he wanted deployed — troops that Trump wanted to protect his supporters from counter-protesters.
“They never reported that Nancy Pelosi was offered 10,000 soldiers, National Guard soldiers, whatever you want. ‘No, I don’t want them,’” he said.
In fact, the “peacefully and patriotically” language was in the prepared remarks that he read off the teleprompter early that afternoon. In that speech, Trump also told his mob that they had to “fight like hell” that day….
…
A week after the assault, the House impeached Trump for inciting the insurrection, with 10 Republicans voting with every Democrat. A month later, though, then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) refused to convict Trump, claiming that it was inappropriate because he was no longer in office.
Had he been convicted, the Senate almost certainly would have also voted to ban Trump from holding federal office ever again. McConnell’s decision permitted Trump to mount a campaign to return to office.
Trump was speaking Tuesday to House Republicans assembled at the Kennedy Center, which Trump recently had renamed for himself….
James you should do a post on Pam Hemphill, the only person convicted of a crime resulting from the Republican assault on the capitol five years ago ,who refused to accept a pardon from Republican Party owner Donald Trump.
She returned to Washington today to appear before the Jan. 6 committee.Of course only the Democrats were there. The Republicans? In their usual cowardly manner refrained from appearing, obviously afraid of incurring the wrath of their “ dear leader.”
Feeling no shame and no responsibility to truth or the patriots in blue (with whom his comrades so like to pose), Mike Johnson said that the monument to the Capitol and other police who fell on Jan. 6, 2021 has been put in storage and won’t be put back so long as he is Speaker.
Yet another reason to flip the House in November.
Oh it’s going to be Hakeim Jeffries as Speaker ….
Bet on it…..
Jack?
Coming up…..
