Lets put this stuff to rest…
Mamdani has joined Ocasio-Cortez in supporting House Minority leader Hakeem Jeffries re-election…
Mamdani IS now part of the National Democratic Party….
He is NOT gonna join the Left-WingNut’s in the party to dilute the parties overall strength…
(One just filed to run against Jeffries..It wasn’t AOC)
Democrats have a bright future coming in next years Midterm elections…
They don’t want to mess that up….
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani seem reluctant to support a progressive primary challenge of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.).
“I certainly don’t think a primary challenge to the leader is a good thing right now,” Ocasio-Cortez told Axios on Monday after New York City Councilmember and democratic socialist Chi Ossé filed his paperwork for the seat.
Mamdani also seemed to imply that Ossé’s skills could be effectively used in New York City instead of D.C.
“While I appreciate the great work that Councilmember Ossé has done on the council, especially for tenants, I believe that there are many ways right here in New York City to both deliver on an affordability agenda and take on the authoritarian administration in the White House,” Mamdani said on Monday.
According to a New York Times report, Mamdani had also discouraged Ossé from running and expressed concerns that another prominent primary contest could endanger his ability to advance an affordability agenda with the Democratic establishment…
…
Adam Green, a co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, suggested that timing was one of the factors behind the opposition to Ossé’s potential run.
“Especially at this moment, just after Mamdani’s big victory and House Democrats holding firm during the shutdown fight, it is not the right moment to launch a primary challenge to Hakeem Jeffries,” Green said in a statement to Politico.…
Note…
As expressed here and suggested by Obama TO Mamdani….
It is time to put the old stuff away and govern the Big Apple’s 8 Million by Mamdani…..

Zohran Mamdani, AOC, Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, Donald Trump,….
Notice a pattern here?
NYC?
Of course, if you’re nostalgic, you could add (among others) Rudy Giuliani and John V. Lindsay.
Mayors (like Michael Bloomberg) dream of higher office, but none has won any further election in 100 years.
Indeed …….
Most people do NOT Know that NYC had Rudy and Bloomberg, GOP er’s for TWENTY YEARS.
Nor do many people know that ultramarine-blue Rhode Island went without a Democratic governor for 20 years (5 terms) straight.
Interesting….
Ofcpourse we’re talking about a DIFFERENT breed of Republican’s, eh?
Some were, and some weren’t.
Lincoln Chafee (2011-2015) had been a Republican (like his father) but ran for Governor as an independent, and is now, I believe, a Republican.
But Don Carcieri (2003-2011) was a rather orthodox moderate-conservative Republican who was rather strongly pro-life.
And Carcieri’s predecessor, Lincoln Almond (1995-2003), while more moderate than Carcieri, had won the 1994 Republican primary as a base-Republicans’ answer to the GOP establishment’s candidate, the moderate-liberal Cong. Ron Machtley.
Correction:
Lincoln Chafee (2011-2015) had been a Republican (like his father) but ran for Governor as an independent, and is now, I believe, a
RepublicanDemocrat.
