‘What me Worry?’

The stock markets have lost more than $6 trillion in value since President Donald Trump’s decision to upend the global economic order and impose sweeping tariffs last week. Americans have lost retirement savings. Business leaders are bracing to lose customers and revenue.

But on Sunday, the president won. Trump said he took first in the Senior Club Championship at his golf club here.

“It’s good to win,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One. “You heard I won, right?”

The president’s victory came as the nation’s markets grapple with the most significant financial bet of his presidency: his belief that sweeping tariffs will strengthen the U.S. economy. Economists have warned the resulting trade war and higher prices could send the nation into a deep recession. Overseas markets fell sharply overnight….

President Donald Trump has spent part of at least 24 days at his golf courses since the start of his second term. Four of those days followed his April 2 “Liberation Day” announcement….

  4. Word is that Trump has told some Republican Senators that he is “ open” to higher taxes on the richest people in the country.

            The Republican Party has fundamentally changed but is still called the Republican Party, just like a sports team when it moves to another city. People that currently identify with the Republican Party, by and large, tend to love Donald Trump, and have only a loose connection, if even that, to what existed before him, at least publicly.

            There is no “Grand Ole Party.” It is a misnomer and people should really stop using the GOP label to refer to politics in the present day.

            It is either the MAGA Party or NTP (New Trump Party.)

              They are knowingly and indeed in many cases enthusiastically supporting Trump.

              You need to read and at least attempt to understand CGs explanation of what has happened to the Republican Party.

  9. Every few weeks ,when some Republican member of the Orwellian named House Freedom Caucus claims they’re not going to go along with Trump on something or other,James immediately proclaims that such shows that Trump is “losing”Republicans.

    And of course it’s all BS.

    They always back down in the end as Trump reiterates his Order and the disgusting little worms slink back into their subservient role.

    Trump owns the Republican Party .And the so called Freedom Caucus?” Yes Sir” they meekly reply as their previous vow to oppose him fades into nothingness.Watch what we do not what we say.

    Remember this next time James runs one of his posts claiming Republicans are ‘ turning “on Trump.

    Immigration officers and analysts are increasingly skeptical the Trump administration can deport ( a million) immigrants in a single year.

    What does it matter?

    Trump and the Republicans are going to LIE and claim they’re have even if they haven’t.

  11. A suspect has been arrested and will be charged with counts including the attempted murder of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and his family. He broke into the Governor’s Residence last night and set a fire while the family was asleep after observing the first night of Passover.

    I am sure we will learn more about motive soon enough to determine if this domestic terrorist was a far left anti-Semite, a far right anti-Semite, or perhaps just something different entirely.

    My guess though is far left.

        On the other hand (although I don’t think he made a similar declaration Jesse Ventura actually had a credible record (as Ind. Gov. of Minn.) and a plausible if idiosyncratic set of ideas (cf. Jerry Brown).

    How long before the MAGA “ populists “call for those poor souls to get a tax cut?

        Despite all this so called “populist’ rhetoric the Republican Party is never going to raise taxes on the wealthy.

            • This is a conscious strategy of the Right (although my mind and memory are too fuzzy to recall the details):
              *When the Democrats are in power, use the deficit as a reason to cut or deny spending on domestic programs and the safety net;
              *When the Republicans are in power, cut taxes (and/or increase the defense budget) to increase the debt and deficit;
              *Rinse and repeat
