2020: In case you missed the other 563 clues, Elizabeth Warren is going to run for President in 2020. This hint comes in the form of Warren–who famously refuses to take reporter questions at all–announcing that she is going to start building up more of a rapport with D.C. reporters. I’m sure that this is all in service of her heavily contested re-election campaign over the next 2 months and nothing else/s.
Kavanaugh: A Gallup poll has found that the Democrats haven’t really made any progress towards “Borking” Brett Kavanaugh, despite many attempts to. They find his nomination is supported 40-36, which while much narrower than most other nominees, is far from enough to sink his nomination in a Republican-held Senate.
NYT Story: So the big story today is that the NYT published an anonymous Op-Ed from an alleged White House official that basically says that everyone working in the White House treats Trump as a megalomaniacal disaster of a boss, and deliberately take steps to do most of the job of running the country in his place. They also say that the only reason his cabinet hasn’t invoked the 25th amendment to remove him from power is because they are afraid of a constitutional crisis playing out. Naturally, Trump tweeted angrily about it, everyone covered it, and the internet is hot at work trying to discover who it was that wrote the Op-Ed. Honestly, I am very confused by this—if the author is being 100% honest about this environemtn, why on earth would they reveal this information in the form of a NYT Op-Ed? All you’ve done is ensure that Trump is going to be very angry and start hunting for any source of leaks in his administration, while simultaneously ensuring that anything resembling positive self-reflection will be buried by association with a paper that has been pretty overtly hostile to him so far anyway. We’ll have to see I guess…..

The Republican who will futilely challenge Sen. Warren’s re-election next November is Geoff Diehl, said to be the most unambiguously pro-Trump of the three primary candidates (the two losers on Tuesday night were Beth Lindstrom and Jack Kingston).
Donald Trump won the 2016 Mass. GOP primary by a more than crushing majority.
It’s a little surprising that the always small, fractured Massachusetts Republican electorate also supported the classically moderate, bipartisan Yankee Republican Gov. Charlie Baker, who’s the most popular governor in the country by 64% to 36% over militantly anti-gay pastor Scott Lively.
