The crew over at 538 survey primaries in Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, and West Virgina (The most watchedby the political media),….
Will a new political dynasty be born? Will a man not quite a year removed from prison become the GOP’s candidate for Senate? Will Dennis Kucinich finally win a nomination — 14 years after his first quixotic presidential bid?
These things could all happen Tuesday, primary day in the great states of Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio and West Virginia. As opposed to recent special election days, when the entire political world turned its eyes to a single district, we’ll be dividing our attention among several key contests as the results come in. There are lots of weird, interesting races, but the most significant takeaway will be whether the Democratic and Republican parties are nominating strong candidates for the fall. Want to follow along? Read up on the races we’ll be watching below, then join us Tuesday night for our live blog…..

Blankenship has fired back at Trunp’s suggestion that WV Republicans pick one of the other candidates in tomorrow’s primary. He basocally said since Trump endorsed a child molester in Alabama he doesn’t really care to receive his backing.
Well there you go Never Trumpers! Here’s your new Republican hero!
Trump endorsed someone in the Alabama primary over the alleged child molester and it didn’t make a difference to the voters. Perhaps, the same thing is going to happen in West Virginia.
Manchin has to be the luckiest guy in America.
Trump’s endorsement has been the thing to make sure ya lose in the past few votes
For a nice graphic…..

AP has called GOP primary for #NC03 for self-described “thorn in people’s asses” Rep. Walter Jones. He’s said he’ll retire in 2020.
Daily Kos Elections

91% reporting in #NC09 GOP primary, and Mark Harris leads Rep. Robert Pittenger 49-46. Not over, but the Lannister House Band is warming up at the Pittenger party.

We’re getting near the point where a Pittenger comeback is getting tough to imagine. Now with 37/50 in Mecklenberg, and still down by 878. Pittenger now might need a 30 or 40 pt lead over the remaining vote.

AP has called #IN02 Dem primary for Mel Hall, who leads 47-32. GOP Rep. Jackie Walorski a long-shot Dem target in the fall

Blankenship is shooting blanks. Not what Manchin wanted to see happen. Another win for “Cocaine Mitch” who personally made Trump get involved against Blankenship. I don’t like any of these candidates, but I said that Jenkins deserved to lose as well for his pro-Trump dishonest tactics.
In Indiana, I am glad to especially see Rokita lose big. The candidate who sucked up to Trump the least (although he’s not exactly a Never Trumper) won and is probablyDonnelly’s toughest potential opponent.
The good news for some Democrats here is that Kucinich lost in OH, so you won’t have to pretend you wouldn’t support him for Governor!
In other Indiana news, it looks like Mike Pence’s older brother will be a Member of Congress next year.
I wonder if there has ever been a non-Kennedy sibling serving alongside a brother who was either President or Vice President at the same time. In 1982, George H.W. Bush’s older brother lost a U.S. Senate race.
