Gonna be a VERY INTERESTING two years….
A lame duck Donald….
And he’s Right….
A Democratic Congress WILL be passing legislation that will be veto’d…..
BUT?
He’s also Right….
A Democratic Congress WILL HAVE to ‘Deal’….
AND?
President Trump WILL HAVE to ‘Deal’ ALSO……
THAT since…
Congress (Democrats) have to sign off on the MONEY, and Appointments and what Else?
Donald IS in for a rough ride going forward….
And he’s at 30% support, eh?
A 2028 Vance run on Trump intransigence for two years would be a disaster….

“In his second term, President Donald Trump so far has benefited from his Republican Party holding majorities in both houses of Congress, as he did in the top half of his first turn in the White House. When one party controls both the presidency and Congress, ambitious legislation can become law, as evidenced by the tax-cut measures enacted under Trump in 2017 and 2025. And with party faithful running congressional committees, a presidential administration is insulated, to some extent, from tough scrutiny from such bodies,” Bloomberg reports.
“Now, public disapproval of Trump’s job performance threatens to bring one-party Republican government to a crashing halt in Nov. 3 congressional elections. A ‘wave election‘ that breaks in favor of the Democrats would, in Trump’s final two years in the White House, expose his administration to greater oversight and force it to accept compromise if it wants to enact legislation.”
“At the same time, there’s a lot a president can do without Congress. Trump already has tested the bounds of a president’s power by issuing expansive executive orders, including some that have been struck down by the courts, and waging war against Iran without congressional authorization.”

“President Donald Trump said he may have to become ‘Mr. Veto’ if Democrats win a majority in Tuesday’s midterms, according to a clip of a New York Post interview aired Sunday on Fox News,” Bloomberg reports.
Said Trump: “They’ll be sending stuff up, you veto it. Eventually, after a month or two of getting all vetoed — you know, it’s just waste — they come over and make a deal.”
He added: “Hopefully we don’t have to worry about that.”

“The specter of a Democratic wave on Tuesday and retreat of Republican power has quietly sparked conversations within GOP circles about President Trump’s eventual exit from the political stage — and the future of a party that has revolved around him for the past decade,” the Los Angeles Times reports.
“Heading into the vote, Trump faces the lowest job approval ratings of his career. Factions of the Republican Party long loyal to his brand are beginning to break ranks. Candidates who have aligned themselves most closely to the president are among the most imperiled. From the shores of Lake Ontario to rural Kansas, signs point to a voter coalition under strain, as Republicans grappling with a troubled economy question the party’s direction.”

“President Donald Trump’s loyal base will stick by him regardless of the results on Tuesday,” Politico reports.
“New results from The Politico Poll show that the majority of voters who backed Trump in 2024 and self-identify as MAGA think the party should move closer to the president if Republicans wipe out.”
“They’re more likely to blame GOP candidates for running weak campaigns than the president for not doing enough to help the party across the finish line.”
