Whose side are you on Mr. President?
And?
The NY Post and AP are breaking a story that Putin HAS agreed to a US/Russia/Ukraine meeting on the war?
I see NO progress in this effort if Putin does NOT relax his absolutist demands against the Ukraine…
GOP senators not happy about Trump’s warming relationship with Putin
President Trump’s warming relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which may lead to a trilateral summit of the United States, Russia and China to resolve the fate of Ukraine, is getting strong pushback from Republicans in Congress.
Several Republicans have panned the idea that Trump would huddle with Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, two foreign leaders largely viewed in Congress as adversaries to American interests, to cut a peace deal that Ukraine would be forced to accept….

Four Republican senators, Sens. John Cornyn (Texas), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Tillis, signed a bipartisan letter on Thursday to Platte Moring, the Defense Department’s inspector general, demanding an immediate investigation into whether senior Pentagon officials ordered or had advance knowledge of the Starshield slowdown.
The controversy over Starshield erupted in Washington a few days after Trump stunned GOP allies on Capitol Hill by announcing a deal with Putin to immediately import an estimated 2.2 million tons of Russian diesel into the United States to combat high fuel prices, which have hit farmers, truckers and business owners hard.
Senate Republican Policy Committee Chair Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) said she was “surprised” by that announcement and said it raised questions about the Trump administration following the law and wishes of Congress.
She noted Trump lifted sanctions on Russian diesel only weeks after signing the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act, which passed the Senate in August by an overwhelming vote of 86-11.
“I worry more that this is an act of Congress that we worked with the White House on and … we had timed this to when the president and the White House felt it was a good time to move forward with this, where it could be effective,” she said of the new sanctions law.
“I was extremely surprised when he did it,” she said of Trump’s deal to import hundreds of tons of Russian diesel without advance notification to Congress. “I worry about those dynamics … the legislative and executive.”….

Putin agrees to trilateral talks with Ukraine, US to end war
NY Post….
Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to return to trilateral negotiations with the US and Ukraine to end its war, a Kremlin official told reporters Wednesday.
Moscow’s foreign affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov said that Putin said “in principle” peace talks will continue after Nov. 10, following a meeting with US special envoy Steve Witkoff in St. Petersburg.
Witkoff met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders in Oslo, Norway, on Tuesday to weigh a proposal that laid out Kyiv’s security guarantees, economic recovery funds and other items, before heading to Russia to present the document to Putin.
Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed Wednesday to resume three-way negotiations next month with Washington and Kyiv aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, a Kremlin official said, potentially setting up the first such talks since February.
The Russian leader agreed “in principle” to resume the talks after Nov. 10, Putin foreign affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov told reporters following a meeting in St. Petersburg between Putin and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff.
The talks will focus on “building a security system for Russia and Ukraine after the conflict ends,” Ushakov said.
Witkoff’s talks with Putin about Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine took place as U.S. President Donald Trump pushed Kyiv to make a deal that stops the fighting.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has insisted that only a summit of leaders can break the impasse. The two armies remain locked on the battlefield, and the countries pummel each other with daily long-range strikes.
Representatives of the three countries held three rounds of negotiations early this year, meeting twice in Abu Dhabi in January and February, followed by further talks in Geneva in February.
However, little progress was reported beyond exchanges of prisoners of war as Moscow and Kyiv stuck to their longstanding basic demands…..
