President Donald Trump offered an ominous prediction/threat on Monday, saying The New York Times is nearing the end of its existence.
The president went on a tear against the Gray Lady after it reported that the venue where he hosted a rally in Alabama on Friday “was not full.” Trump took to Truth Social, where he mistakenly claimed the Times was referring to his rally in Ohio on Saturday.
“There are no empty seats, there haven’t been for years, and there never will be,” Trump wrote in part. “The Rallies are ‘HOTTER’ than ever. They are all ‘happenings,’ and they never happened before, and will never be duplicated again.”
A few hours later, he fired off another post, but this one was more personal and threatening. He belittled Times reporters Peter Baker and Maggie Haberman before adding, “Some day in the not too distant future The Times will be forced to close its dirty doors, and that will be a Great Day for America!”
Trump wrote:
The New York Times, in writing a story about one of the finest and most successful resorts anywhere in the World, Trump National Doral, in Miami, posted a picture where the facade has been blackened and denigrated by them in order to make it look shoddy, filthy, and just plain BAD. They want World Leaders to see this, knowing it is not the “TRUMP” way. The actual facade looks like the second picture posted, rather than the one doctored by The Times. Its Blue Monster Golf Course, home of the Cadillac Championship, is considered one of the Best, and Toughest, anywhere in the World! This is what I have to deal with on a constant basis — Artificial News! The Times is a CROOKED outfit that caters to Lunatics who want to see our Country fail. Its numbers are way down due to lack of credibility, and this posting is just a small sample of what I have had to put up with, each and every day, for many years! Guys like Liddle’ Peter Baker, and Maggot HAGerman, are Third Rate Reporters, who I haven’t spoken to in years, but who write about me constantly, never fact checking, or caring, about whether or not their story is true. The president has escalated his feud with the media in his second term, having attempted to ban CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House. On Monday, the White House refused to allow Politico on Air Force One. A few hours later, Trump berated CNN’s Kristen Holmes when she pointed to his sinking poll numbers among Latino voters……

“The New York Times, and many other Artificial Media Outlets, should be arrested for their dishonesty and disservice to our Country,” the president added, accusing outlets of inflating crowds for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and downplaying how many people attend his rallies.
“The Arena was totally MAXED OUT, including all upper sections,” Trump wrote in a subsequent post. “What does happen at all of my SOLD OUT Rallies, is that the people in the upper sections tend to migrate down to the Main Floor — The ‘migration’ process always happens!”
The president also shared a video of himself taking the stage at the rally as attendees chanted “USA” multiple times…..
