“President Donald Trump guaranteed that his $5,000 checks to all Americans are ‘100%’ going forward if Republicans win the midterms and that he knows ‘exactly’ how he’ll pay for it,” Mediaite reports.
Said Trump: “I know exactly how we’re going to pay it. You know it’s interesting on that because everyone said that the great Big Beautiful Bill will never happen. It happened. They said that the 1776 for the military. $1,776 would never happen. And it happened. They were paid. And now they say, oh, the $5,000 — The $5,000 is going to happen 100%.”

“President Trump’s proposal to send adult U.S. citizens $5,000 dividend checks would require congressional approval, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said on Sunday,” Axios reports.
“Trump and his top officials claim they can send the checks without Congress — even with the prospect of them costing upward of $1.3 trillion.”
Said Johnson: “He’d need Congress to act.”

Congress has had ‘zero time’ to discuss Trump’s $5k dividend, Johnson says
Speaker Mike Johnson on Sunday sought to clarify President Donald Trump’s recent promise to send a $5,000 dividend to all U.S. adults if the GOP retains control of Congress in November.
Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Johnson called the “Trump dividend” a “creative idea” even as he appeared to suggest such money would not be a physical check.
“I think what he was articulating there, Jake, is that he’s saying that if you want more money in your pocket, you have to keep Republicans in charge,” Johnsontold host Jake Tapper……
