Donald Trump’s Bad late May Early June 2026 continues unabated….
The ball room money is cut and the remaining bill is a effort to fund Homeland , with ICE and CBP for TWO YEARS…
This IS a Republican effort to Geta round a coming Democratic Majority US House and Democrats push for re3forms in ICE and CBP…..
Mullin HAS lowered the tempature against the agencies….
But HAD NOT given Democrats the action them want in the agencies operations…
One wonders what is the status of the place ‘s the Trump Admin is taking money FROM to pay ICE and CBP for the last few months, when they haven’t had there own spending (and still don’t) budget yet?
Senate Republicans have stripped language providing up to $1 billion for security upgrades to the proposed White House ballroom from a revised budget reconciliation bill unveiled on Wednesday.
Senate Republicans agreed among themselves before the Memorial Day recess to pull the money for President Trump’s 90,000-square-foot ballroom out of the reconciliation package but they made the decision official by releasing the updated text from the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The lack of funding and authorization for the ballroom is a major setback to Trump, who has pressed Republican senators for weeks about the need for Congress to authorize the project, something that took on new urgency after an armed man tried to storm the annual White House Correspondents Association dinner at the Washington Hilton in April.
The Judiciary Committee’s title will be combined with legislation marked up last month by the Senate Homeland Security Committee in a package that senators will vote to begin debating shortly after 2:15 p.m. Wednesday.
“The Secure America Act will ensure Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding is no longer held hostage by Democrats’ radical leftist agenda. Democrats’ irresponsible and partisan government shutdown will result in a more robust DHS, with the funds to fulfill its mission through 2029,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said in a statement accompanying the bill….
…
The Judiciary title would provide $13 billion to Customs and Border Protection to hire, pay and train personnel and fully fund the immigration enforcement missions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement through 2029.
It would provide $31.075 billion to ICE and an additional $2.5 billion to the Department of Homeland Security to ensure that its national security and law enforcement work isn’t interrupted by Democratic objections to funding the Department of Homeland Security through the regular appropriations process.
The bill marked up by the Senate Homeland Security Committee would provide $19.1 billion to hire, train, pay and equip Customs and Border Protection personnel through 2029 and $7.5 billion to hire, train, pay and equip Homeland Security investigations personnel through 2029.
The Homeland Security title would also provide $3.5 billion for improvements to border security, including improvements to air and marine operations, and $2.5 billion generally to the Department of Homeland Security to ensure adequate funding for border security across the board….
