With a little more than 2 years out from the Democratic Presidential Nomination for 2028 former Biden Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of outgoing California Governor Gavin Newsom by about 5% points in the average of polls in the Spring of 2026….
Harris has pulled ahead of Newsom in February when she released her book ‘107 Days’….
But if you follow the polling ?
Harris beveled off in the polls and as of this post in the first day of May?
Harris has dropped as Newsom seem’s to be creeping back up….
My headline is about something that runs below the headline that some Democrats do NOT want say out loud…
But ARE concerned about….
This is Harris’s THIRD try for the Presidency…
She WOULD be carrying Joe Biden on her back….
And?
Democrats that happen to be Women get votes ….
But Do NOT win the Office….
Gavin Newsom is a Democratic ‘Slick Willy’ type….
So?
We’re in the Social Media Era….
Slick White Guys get over….
A woman with a losing record creates doubts for some voters, including Democrats….
YES….
The underlining thought IS Democrats need a Straight, White GUY, Younger that 70 years old…
Why NOT the guy who, warts and all, has been the Democratic Governor of a state with an economy ahead of most of the countries of the world?
The guy who HAS been picking on Donald Trump and getting away with it?
We’ll see what happens going into the Summer of 2026 and the Midterms….
But as the time closes on the serious campaign start in January 2027?
People WILL be starting to make hard choices….
Harris Leading the polls may be a catalyst to actually help Newsom deal with doubts they may have on what America seems to incapable of doing, that other countries do NOT have, and Have elected women leaders….
