I guessed going BACK to the beginning of the airport screening program 50 some years ago….
Private security people making minimum age doing the screening…
But I had no idea that Trump & Co. want to cut benefits and programs for Americans in 2027 so they can set a ‘Moon Base’ for humans and go to Mars?
The means to raise Hegseth’s Defense budget by 40%, the largest budget for the military in decades is to go back to cuts in programs, agencies and departments that must certainly end up being held in in Federal Courts or dismissed by lawmakers who face voters in seven months or so….
Again?
Trump 2027 Budget is just a ‘wish list’ for Congress to chew on….
They, NOT Trump & Co. get the last word….
And the Federal Judges and Courts, eh?
Again?
The 2026 Midterm Election’s are a bit more than ONLY Seven Months away….
President Trump’s 2027 budget proposal is here — and it suggests changes to how the U.S. government operates.
Why it matters: Many of the decisions align with Trump’s long-term goals of consolidating the federal government, pushing out the “woke” agenda, and doubling down on AI and new military technology.
What they’re saying: “Savings are achieved by reducing or eliminating woke, weaponized and wasteful programs, and by returning State and local responsibilities to their respective governments,” a White House fact sheetsays.
The proposal is a starting point. The House and Senate review and then create their own budget resolutions, which must be negotiated and merged.
- Congress then sends the final approved funding bills to the president for a final signature or veto….

- It features billions in additional funding for ICE, CBP, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Secret Service.

Lunar base camp and visiting the moon
Trump’s budget proposal requests $18.8 billion in discretionary spending for NASA — a 23% increase from 2026.
- This includes investing $731 million to help NASA’s Artemis program put astronauts on the moon by 2028, and the establishment of a lunar base camp with an eye toward “a permanent outpost near the south pole of the Moon.”
- Trump also wants to terminate 40 ongoing NASA programs to save approximately $3.4 billion dollars, including the Mars Sample Returnmission. According to the proposal, the mission’s goals could “be achieved by human missions to Mars.”

Changes to housing, K-12, food assistance programs
The budget proposal includes cuts that could impact everyday life.
- It proposes replacing the Biden era “Continuum of Care” homeless assistance program with a “more targeted” $4 billion Emergency Solutions Grant program.
- The proposal would also eliminate other housing programs impacting individuals with AIDs, Native Americans, native Hawaiians and others.
It also slashes millions for K-12 assistance programs, clean energy elements of the Department of Energy’s budget, and senior employment and food assistance grants.
- Generally, the budget aims to cut programs that direct federal funds to helping low-income communities, AP reports.
