He ‘says’ everything is being reviewed?
If Trump does NOT ‘Control’ this from the top in support for the Federal Officer in the second shooting death in two weeks?
And he lets the FBI and maybe even the State and Local cops move ahead ‘hands off’?
Things ARE GONNA CHANGE Dramatically…..
His Homeland AND Justice ‘cover people’ could be cast aside….
Under HUGE Pressure?
Trump DOES say he WILL pull the Feds from Minnesota ‘at some point’
Would he clip Miller’s wings?
Lotta questions can be asked?
“President Trump declined to say whether the federal officer who fatally shot a man in Minnesota this weekend had acted appropriately and said the administration was reviewing the incident,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
Said Trump: “We’re looking, we’re reviewing everything and will come out with a determination.”
Note….
Or is this a selling point to try a calm the waters?
Vance echoed the same words about ‘Reviewing Everything’….
But media reports have the FBI under control….
No Justice Department Internal Affairs look at both Federal shooters…
And NO cooperation with State and Local cops and prosecutors…
‘Trust’ is kinda low to non-existent right now on the shooting investigations and possible disciple on the Federal side….
“This is dangerous. What are you doing?” was one of the responses to Donald Trump after he agreed to nominate former South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to be his Department of Homeland Security director.
That is according to excerpts from a new book by journalist Jonathan Karl titled, “Retribution: Donald Trump and the Campaign That Changed America,” and published by The Guardian.
According to Karl’s reporting, Noem was given the nomination to a key government department that was to be tasked with fulfilling the centerpiece of Trump’s agenda: rounding up and chasing undocumented immigrants out of the country.
More to the point, Noem got the job because former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who has been linked to having an extramarital relationship with Noem, lobbied Trump to nominate her.
“Like Pete Hegseth, who landed the job of defense secretary, Noem, then the governor of South Dakota – who faced an outcry over her admission in a book that she once shot a pet dog – had not been on the transition team’s list of possible candidates and had not gone through vetting for the job, Karl writes in Retribution,” The Guardian reported.
Pressed why he gave Noem the nod, Trump reportedly stated, “I did it for Corey. It’s the only thing Corey asked me for.’”
After Trump’s announcement, longtime Trump insider Steve Bannon was reportedly beside himself and told Karl, “We still got the global war on terror. She runs the whole thing? She runs the f*cking Secret Service? It’s all of it. It’s the global war on terror. It’s all that. What are you talking about? She’s never been in law enforcement!”
Bannon added, “This motherf*cker asked for somebody who’s obviously unqualified – and it’s dangerous. This is dangerous. What are you doing?”

Reacting to a report from Bill Melugin of Fox News that federal immigration officials in Donald Trump’s administration are furious about the events in Minneapolis, which have led to the deaths of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, conservative pundits are piling on the agency’s leadership.
According to Melugin’s report, a half dozen officials relayed to him that the shooting of Pretti and the excuses offered in the aftermath have been “catastrophic” for the agency, which has some considering retiring and walking away.
On X, Melugin wrote, “Specifically, I’m told there is extreme frustration with DHS officials going on TV and putting out statements claiming that Alex Pretti was intending to conduct a ‘massacre’ of federal agents or wanted to carry out ‘maximum damage,’ even after numerous videos appeared to show those claims were inaccurate.
“While they say it was a terrible decision to show up with a gun and inject himself into a federal law enforcement operation, there is no indication Pretti was there to murder law enforcement, as videos appear to show he never drew his holstered firearm.”

With conservative pundit Erick Erickson writing, “Late night phone call with a senior White House official who tells me the President is not happy with how the Department of Homeland Security has handled the response to this incident,” long-time conservative columnist Jonah Goldberg joined the pile on.
“This underscores the point I’ve been trying to make for a while. The DHS/Steve Miller approach is bad even if you support what Trump wants to do. It puts ICE agents in needless danger, turns public opinion against the WH, and makes it harder to get the illegals they claim to be going after. But Miller, Noem & Crew want spectacle more than anything. And they’re willing to take a lot of collateral damage in the process,” he accused on X.
Senior Editor Peter Laffin of the conservative DC Examiner, who writes on Restoring America, suggested the White House needs to do something to put out the firestorm.
“Noem, Bovino, and Miller (and Vance who retweeted Miller) incinerated the agency’s credibility by pushing an obviously false narrative in the immediate aftermath. Changes need to be made,” he urged.
For his part, Goldberg also took a shot at JD Vance’s excuses for the shooting, where the vice president wrote, “When I was in Minneapolis, I heard a number of crazy stories. But near the top of the list: A couple of off duty ICE and CBP officers were going to dinner in Minneapolis. They were doxed and their location revealed, and the restaurant was then mobbed. The officers were locked in the restaurant, and local police refused to respond to their pleas for help (as they’ve been directed by local authorities).
“Eventually, their fellow federal agents came to their aid. This is just a taste of what’s happening in Minneapolis because state and local officials refuse to cooperate with immigration enforcement. They have created the chaos so they can have moments like yesterday, where someone tragically dies and politicians get to grandstand about the evils of enforcing the border.”
Goldberg shot back, “This might have happened. I’m at a total loss why anyone would take the “they’re eating the dogs and cats” guy at his word.”
