Democratic-aligned voters remain far less fond of their own party (65% have a favorable view of the Democratic Party) than Republican-aligned voters (80% have a favorable view of the GOP), but even those Democratic-aligned voters with a negative view of the party are almost universally behind the Democratic candidate in their district (93%) and broadly motivated to vote (71% say they are extremely motivated).”

Bomb Threats Briefly Close Some Polling Sites in New Jersey
Bomb threats that officials described as hoaxes were emailed on Tuesday morning to cities across New Jersey, disrupting voting and resulting in the brief closure or relocation of polling sites in some locations.
The threats, which officials said were similar, appeared to go to towns throughout much of New Jersey, according to the state’s attorney general, Matthew Platkin. In a statement, Mr. Platkin said that officials had reported receiving threats in at least seven of New Jersey’s 21 counties, including Bergen, Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Passaic.
“Law enforcement officers have responded at each affected polling place, and they have worked swiftly to secure these polling locations and ensure the safety of every voter,” Mr. Platkin said.
“Some of these polling locations have already reopened to the public. At others, voters will be directed to a nearby polling location to cast their ballot.”…..
It was one year ago and some of us were sitting here and looking at the exit polls and saying, “these look pretty good” for a Trump loss but alas.. here we are.
Democrats need to win the two Governorships tonight and I think they will, but the national midterms are still a year away and there is so much uncertainty at play there.

MAGA political junkie types are going to be shocked and apoplectic if Jay Jones wins in Virginia, which looks what is going to happen, due to anti-Trump sentiment.
They are going to view this as a tremendous shift in partisan voting habits after everything Jones got caught saying. That will be ignoring the fact that Trump already changed those norms for the worst almost a decade ago and they were willing to look passed it then. Jay Jones has no business being elected to office, but it is fitting for the Trump Era.

Except in the very large portions of the country that tend to vote for Republicans….none of today’s elections that we are focusing on are in swing states.
Democrats need to figure out a way to win in states that Trump won last year and to win people who voted for Trump last time.
NJ and VA are not those states and a lot less people will have voted in those states today than did last year or will in a regular midterm or especially a Presidential election.

My biggest surprise is that Sherrill is ahead by as much as she is. We will wait to see the final margin, but she might wind up winning by more than Spanberger in Virginia. It was supposed to be the opposite. What does that say about Trump officially endorsing the Republican?
And in VA, Jay Jones winning over an incumbent, after everything, is notable enough, but he is winning by five points.
