A majority of Americans disapprove of President Trump’s handling of the economy, marking his lowest approval rating since 2017 during his first term, according to a survey released Wednesday.
The Fox News poll found that 38 percent approve, while 61 percent disapprove of Trump’s economic policies. Overall, 76 percent of respondents had a negative view of the state of the U.S. economy.
In July, that number was at 67 percent, a previous Fox News poll found.
Voters largely blame their dim economic outlook on Trump rather than former President Biden, the survey noted.
On the other side, roughly 15 percent said the president’s economic policies have helped the economy.
“And three times as many [at 46 percent] say Trump’s economic policies have hurt them (they said the same about Biden’s last year),” the pollsters added. “Plus, approval of how Trump is handling the economy hit a new low, and disapproval of his overall job performance hit record highs among core supporters.”
When asked which of the two most recent presidents is responsible for current economic uncertainty amid rising prices and inflation, 62 percent of registered voters said Trump, while 32 percent said Biden….
