Never-mind ALL the dissing Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg….
Never-mind ALL the this case don’t count…..
Never-mind ALL the Trump will beat the charges…..
The judge did a damn GOOD job…..
He DID NOT fool the jury…..
DA Brag ‘got his man’……
The ‘System’ prevailed….
This IS a Good day for America….
This is the first of what could be Four criminal trials against the 46th American President….
Trump thought he could ignore, then beat the system….
He LOST….
AGAIN….
The first time he tried to stop the certification of a full Presidential Election….
He LOST on THAT….
He has been nailed by the New York State Attorney General for $450M…..
He LOST on THAT….
He was sued for sexual miscount back in the day for $80M also….
He LOST on THAT….
He IS likely to be sitting a courtroom In Washington DC sometime this summer on that one…..
Make no mistake….
This verdict IS a Clear signal to the Supreme’s that an ex-President was and should be NOT ABOVE the law for his private actions done to help HIMSELF….
Now we also KNOW that a pissed and embarrassed Donald Trump is probably making a list of those he would send HIS Justice Dept. after if some reason he gets his old government job back…..
Those people had BETTER make sure they vote come November FOR Joe Biden….
There personal freedom depends on it I’d guess….
Donald Trump almost ALWAYS goes AFTER those who let him get ‘HIS’ way…..
Donald J. Trump was convicted on Thursday of falsifying records to cover up a sex scandal that threatened to derail his 2016 presidential campaign, capping an extraordinary trial that tested the resilience of the American justice system and transformed the former commander in chief into a felon.
The guilty verdict in Manhattan — across the board, on all 34 counts — will reverberate throughout the nation and the world as it ushers in a new era of presidential politics. Mr. Trump will carry the stain of the verdict during his third run for the White House as voters now choose between an unpopular incumbent and a convicted criminal.
While it was once unthinkable that Americans would elect a felon as their leader, Mr. Trump’s insurgent behavior delights his supporters as he bulldozes the country’s norms. Now, the man who refused to accept his 2020 election loss is already seeking to delegitimize his conviction, attempting to assert the primacy of his raw political power over the nation’s rule of law….
…
The judge overseeing the case, Juan M. Merchan, will sentence Mr. Trump on July 11, just days before the Republican National Convention convenes and makes him the party’s nominee, and could impose a prison term of up to four years. But Mr. Trump could receive probation instead, and may never see the inside of a prison cell. He has vowed to appeal, and will remain free at least until sentencing, campaigning for the presidency while he awaits his punishment.
A jury of 12 New Yorkers needed two days of deliberations to decide a case stemming from Mr. Trump’s first White House run, when, prosecutors say, he perpetrated a fraud on the American people. The case — colored by tabloid intrigue, secret payoffs and an Oval Office pact that echoed the Watergate era — spotlighted months of scheming that begot a hush-money payment to a porn star and a plot to falsify documents to bury all trace of that deal.
“Guilty,” the foreman declared 34 times, one for each false record, before he and his fellow jurors, whose names were withheld from the public for their safety, filed out of the Lower Manhattan courtroom….
….
The conviction, a humiliating defeat for a man who has dwelled in legal gray zones for decades, brings the nation’s highest office to a new low: Mr. Trump is the first president to lose, or even to face, a criminal trial.
The prosecution unfolded against the backdrop of a politically polarized nation, and reactions to the verdict could reflect that divide.
Mr. Trump’s adversaries have long hoped a conviction would wipe the former president from the political map. For them, the case could represent a rare moment of catharsis: comeuppance for a man who, in their minds, poisoned the institution of the presidency.
To Mr. Trump’s base, however, he remains not just a man but a movement, and the more legal tumult he endures, the more his supporters revere him….
…
On the campaign trail, Mr. Trump is expected to harness that image of an outlaw idol, using his conviction to paint himself as a political prisoner and the victim of a Democratic cabal. During the trial, he cast the jurors as 12 angry liberals from a hometown that had turned against him, even though they were participating in a tradition so central to American democracy that it is older than the presidency itself. And he attacked the elected Democratic prosecutor who brought the case, Alvin L. Bragg, falsely claiming he was an extension of President Biden’s campaign….
…
The criminal conviction capped a brutal stretch of legal defeats for Mr. Trump in New York. He started the year in a federal courthouse, where a jury found him liable for defaming the writer E. Jean Carroll when he claimed he hadn’t sexually abused her, and ordered him to pay her more than $80 million. The next month, a judge concluded that Mr. Trump had fraudulently inflated his net worth to win favorable financial deals, and imposed a judgment of more than $450 million.
While those cases delivered devastating personal financial blows, only Mr. Bragg’s trial could send the former president to prison, and America into an era of uncertainty.
“This is long from over,” Mr. Trump declared on Thursday, minutes after his conviction…..

Update….
Michael Cohen is NOW speaking to Rachel Maddow on camera @ MSNBC…..
CG says
He is a convicted felon. Anybody, regardless of political party or persuasion, who detests Donald Trump can find some glee or satisfaction in that. I am among them. However, this is still sad for the country. We can still be glad that in this country, nobody is above the law, including the former President, or the son of a current President, who is about to be on trial. In this case, I disagree with the narrative that the judge did anything “unfair.”
It is also true that Trump is facing other charges, in which he appears to be guilty, that are far more serious and far more consequential than this case.
I still do not completely understand where the felony is here or why it was a state charge and not a federal charge. It is pretty clear the Biden Administration was not behind these charges in Manhattan. After all, they looked at them previously and declined to prosecute.
It does seem to be true that local Democrats in New York City went after Trump for political reasons and they got their man. He deserves that karma but it should be seen for what it is.
Bragg indicting Trump on these charges did more than anything else to make Donald Trump a nominee for President again. That may have been part of their motivation because they believed they could convict him and then defeat him. The indictment greatly helped revive Trump’s political career and now it looks like he could win this fall, not because a ton of people love him, but because Joe Biden is such a weak opponent.
So, while every anti-Trump Democrat and every NeverTrump Republican/RINO has the right to enjoy the comeuppance he got, we will have to ask, potentially for a very long time, if it was worth it.
jamesb says
The base charges are falsifying business records ….
Those charges ARE misdemeanour’s
But?
If the actions where to ‘deceive’ the public in a Federal election campaign?
(Tax liabities also?)
The state charges are raised to low level felonies…..
Trump was shown to have admitted that he didn’t care about giving the ‘hush money’ would be found out by his wife….
It WAS the elction he was worried about…..
BINGO!
jamesb says
There was NO political angle to the Manhattan DA’s case at all….
As a matter of fact?
Bragg took it on the chin in the beginning….
The NY Post and Daily News dissed him BIG TIME….
So did the Republicans ….
Of course Trump IS RIGHT these criminal case ARE a attempt to keep his sorry , crooked ass from the Presidency AGAIN…..
Of course he forgets the criminal actions parts , eh?
CG says
You have to be kidding. Of course taking this action was beneficial to Bragg politically in Manhattan. The guilty verdict definitely expands upon that for him.
jamesb says
I’m NOT kidding……
ALL DA’s ARE political animals…..
The action was in response to pushes from previous DA Vances staff and others…..
Bragg doesn’t run for re-election until 2026….
CG says
And does this help or hurt Bragg win reelection? Clearly ,it is likely to help. It is likely to help him if he wants to run for a higher office in New York City or State. However, *if* Trump is President again, people should realize that Bragg’s gambit was a huge reason why.
jamesb says
Yo CG?
In NYC?
A Democratic stronghold?
Bragg IS LIKELY to get props…..
No doubt…..
jamesb says
You ARE correct….
Those who are willing to go with the past looser , that doesn’t have a good grip on Reality for President ARE willing to support him come hell, high water or criminality ands sexual misconduct….
We ARE in a strage crazy assed time in America….
We just got out from behinf the guy….
But?
THAT just wasn’t enough for some people….
CG says
Nor ideally, *should* it be enough. The person who replaced him had an opportunity to demonstrate that he was up to the job and for whatever reason, and fairly or unfairly, depending on one’s perspective, that just has not happened
So, since he is running again, there is a chance Trump might return.
CG says
The “he” in this case, being Biden, aka the guy who replaced him and whom polling has shown to be an even more unpopular President than his predecessor.
CG says
Unlike the OJ verdict and many other famous ones in my lifetime, I did not “experience” this one live. At the time Trump became a convicted felon, I was at a doctor’s appointment and had no idea a verdict had even been reached until I got out.
jamesb says
Hope the doctor made money telling u ur alright….
ALL of the talking heads lawyers on CNN and MSNBC got it RIGHT in calling Trump’s defense poor to non-existent…
The verdict made MOST feel GOOD, but was hardly a surprise….
Trump’s lawyer was so bad the judge had to help out….
The guy was partly playing to his client NOT the law…..
This case WAS a slam dunk actually…
Trump’s batting average on the legal stuff is LOUSY the last year or so….
CG says
While I have little doubt Trump broke the law in a technical aspect, this seems like it should have been a federal charge. He somehow interfered with the right of New Yorkers to vote for the Presidential candidate of their choice in 2016? I really do not think so, considering it is a state that Trump lost bigly. He got convicted of this because after all these years and all the heat surrounding Trump, they wanted to get him on something/anything. It doesn’t mean he was not guilty.
Now, there are a lot of “slam dunks” out there these days in terms of violent crime, that left wing prosecutors such as Bragg seem to not be as anxious to prosecute and that is a political problem for Democrats nationally.
jamesb says
He, he, he…..
You already making excuses FOR Trump?
No…
The Feds didn’t have the balls to go for it…..
Only the DA in the Big Apple DID…..
AND BEAT the King crook!….
May I repeat?
NYS ….$450M judgement
Carroll….$90M judgement
Waiting in the wings?
Feds in DC and Maiami
Georgia state criminal….
Attacking Bragg CG?
That will continue ….
But the DA got his man….
Nuff Said….
CG says
Let’s hear what Rod Blagojevich has to say. The corrupt Democrat I have been denouncing online for over 20 years, even when some of the others who post here were insisting how great and innocent he was.
“I love Trump more today than ever! When you’ve lived through it yourself you recognize when they do it to someone else. The political fix was in from the beginning. Disgraceful and corrupt convictions of the leading candidate from the opposition party by a handpicked politicized Dem judge who denied a former President a chance to put on a defense and allowed ridiculously unlawful jury instructions. That Dem Judge and those Dem prosecutors ought to go right to F’n jail for what they are doing to our democracy and our country.”
jamesb says
Blaggo and Trump join the long list of corrupt politicians across the world…..
Lets NOT forget the Israeli PM who is under indictment for corruption ALSO…….
All these asshole talking that the cops, judges and juries that are UPHOLDING the Law and Legal System should be ‘Going to Jail” Is just plain fuckedupness effort’s to let the criminals run America…..
jamesb says
Donald Trump IS a miserable man right now…
Why?
Cause his Bull Shit FINALLY DID NOT WORK AGAIN…..
GUILTY ‘Mr President’…
And THAT IS NEVER going Away from the history books…..
jamesb says
And CG?
The man IS hurting……
We’ll see if he fully recovers from having a piece taken out of his ass…..
