This from the Republican Governor of New Hampshire who could be linning up to run against Trump….
Gov. Sununu disses the GOPer’s in the CNN Town Hall that cheered some of Trump’s views….
New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) criticized the Republican voters from his home state who appeared at CNN’s town hall with former President Trump for their reaction to his mocking of author E. Jean Carroll.
“It was embarrassing,” Sununu told MSNBC’s Jen Psaki in an interview set to air Sunday.
“The audience was absolutely filled with Trump supporters, so I wasn’t surprised to hear the support,” he said. “But when you’re talking about a serious issue like that, and laughter and mocking and all that, it’s completely inappropriate, without a doubt.”
Trump once again dismissed Carroll’s allegations that he raped her in a department store dressing room in the mid-1990s, calling her a “whack job” at Wednesday’s town hall. Just one day earlier, a jury found that the former president had sexually abused and defamed Carroll, ordering him to pay $5 million in damages.
“This is a fake story. Made-up story,” Trump quipped, later adding, “I have no idea who the hell she is. She’s a whack job.”
“What kind of a woman meets somebody and brings them up and within minutes you’re playing hanky-panky in a dressing room,” he said, eliciting laughter from the audience.
Sununu, who is mulling a 2024 White House run, acknowledged that the town hall didn’t “shine a positive light” on his home state of New Hampshire. However, he argued that “almost all” of the audience members were Trump supporters….
This points to US Senate Republicans NOT agreeing with Trump’s call for them to just let the government shut down on the debt ceiling issue….Remember Trump let things go for 45 days during his tenure before giving in….Something current Republican leaders will NOT want to do after the Midterm results for last year….
Senate Republicans are disavowing former President Trump’s call to let the federal government default on its debts unless President Biden agrees to “massive” spending cuts, dismissing Trump’s suggestion as something far too risky to seriously consider.
The cold reception to Trump’s bold statement is the latest sign of the widening rift between Trump and his party’s Washington establishment.
While Trump maintains strong influence in the House, where he helped Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) nail down enough votes to be elected Speaker, it’s a different story in the Senate.
GOP senators largely ignored Trump’s participation in a CNN’s town hall Wednesday and later dismissed the former president’s claim that failing to raise the debt ceiling by next month’s deadline might not be a big deal.
“I don’t think anybody suggesting that ‘we have to do a default’ is wise policy, wise strategy for this country,” said Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), adding that Trump “certainly doesn’t impact” her view….

Sure it was embarrassing.
What?Sununu is just figuring out that this MAGA crowd is “embarrassing?
They wallow in their ignorance and stupidity. They literally celebrate it!Laughing at a woman that a jury found was attacked by their god!
Call themselves “populists “ while supporting massive tax cuts for the wealthy .Yeah that’s real “populist.”Call themselves “conservatives “ while supporting all sorts of government programs (that is as long as the money doesn’t go to “those people”( being defined as any group they don’t like). And ,of course railing against “libruls”(being defined as anyone they disagree with.) Hell Sununu is a “librul” to this crowd.
Hillary Clinton got in trouble for calling them “deplorables” She was way too nice!
Trash or garbage would be a much more accurate moniker.
