But some people out there are showing their obstinance and stupidity….
The effort to block certification in a few places is unlikely to derail any election winners from taking office. But they show how just a handful of people with roles in the country’s decentralized election system can try to muck up the process and try to sow chaos in elections. And they demonstrate the continued hold that former President Donald Trump’s unfounded conspiracy theories of widespread election fraud have over his allies and supporters around the country.
At least two counties on Monday voted to not certify their respective county elections: Cochise County in Arizona, where county supervisors voted 2-1 to delay certification until at least Friday, beyond the Monday statutory deadline, and Luzerne County in Pennsylvania, where the county board deadlocked 2-2 on a certification vote, with one abstention who later said he would vote to certify at a future meeting.
Counties failing to certify elections is largely unprecedented in recent American history, even after the 2020 election, and litigation is basically guaranteed…..
Arizona’s Maricopa County says printer problems did not prevent voting on Election Day

The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office issued a letter on Sunday stating that the problems with printers on Election Day at some of their voting locations did not prevent voters from lawfully casting their ballots in Arizona’s most populous county.
Monday is the deadline for Arizona’s counties to certify their general election results, with statewide certification slated to follow on December 5. A number of defeated Republican candidates, including gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and secretary of state hopeful Mark Finchem, continue to cast doubt about the election results. Lake and Finchem have not conceded in their races.

“Despite this being a legal, secure, and reliable voting option, many high profile and influential individuals instructed voters to not deposit their ballots in Door 3,” the Maricopa County Election Department’s report states. “Consequently, some voters refused to use this viable voting option.”…..
