Let’s get something straight….
The media highlight of Trump’s effort to counter the FBI being on his case is just one thing….
His defense against the coming legal storm from the FBI and Justice Dept…..
The raid was outed by Trump…..
Who did NOT want to say that the Feds had visted his home in the Spring and served him with a subpoena for documents….
All the Bull Shit about the government going ‘after’ Donald Trump IS true….
(Contrary to report ‘s…The Feds left a 2 page list of the stuff they took)
He’s given them no other option….
As I have said here over and OVER….
This isn’t Mueller ducking this time…..
The investigations against Trump and Co. are far and wide….
The FBI Director and Attorney General do NOT have to play politics and engage in ‘one on ones’ in the media with Trump enablers…
This time insiders are singing like birds as others lawyer up….
A ‘ill wind’ in coming at Trump and his crew….
Smart Republicans will keep their mouths shut and leave the FBI and Justice Dept. to prove their points…..
Former President Donald J. Trump received a subpoena this spring in search of documents that federal investigators believed he had failed to turn over earlier in the year, when he returned boxes of material he had improperly taken with him upon moving out of the White House, three people familiar with the matter said.
The existence of the subpoena helps to flesh out the sequence of events that led to the search of Mr. Trump’s Florida home on Monday by F.B.I. agents seeking classified material they believed might still be there, even after efforts by the National Archives and the Justice Department to ensure that it had been returned.
The subpoena suggests that the Justice Department tried methods short of a search warrant to account for the material before taking the politically explosive step of sending F.B.I. agents unannounced to Mar-a-Lago, Mr. Trump’s home and members-only club.
Two people briefed on the classified documents that investigators believe remained at Mar-a-Lago indicated that they were so sensitive in nature, and related to national security, that the Justice Department had to act.
The subpoena was first disclosed by John Solomon, a conservative journalist who has also been designated by Mr. Trump as one of his representatives to the National Archives.
The existence of the subpoena is being used by allies of Mr. Trumpto make a case that the former president and his team were cooperating with the Justice Department in identifying and returning the documents in question and that the search was unjustified.
Some senior Republicans have been warned by allies of Mr. Trump not to continue to be aggressive in criticizing the Justice Department and the F.B.I. over the matter because it is possible that more damaging information related to the search will become public.
When Mr. Trump left the White House after refusing to concede that he had lost the 2020 election and seeking frantically to stay in power, a number of boxes of material made their way from the West Wing to Florida.
The MAGA meltdown following the execution of a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago may be harming Donald Trump’s legal position by making the former president look even more guilty….
There IS a national security part to this that Trump & Co. are not talking about…..
My Name Is Jack says
Please name these uh “smart” Republicans who have adopted this “wait and see” stance as you call it.
All I’ve heard is lockstep support for Trump and hate filled lashing out at the FBI from these so called supporters of “law and order.”
Come on now…
Here’s Better Jack…..
A wave of concern and even paranoia is gripping parts of Trump world as federal investigators tighten their grip on the former president and his inner circle.
In the wake of news that the FBI agents executed a court-authorized search warrant at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, Trump’s allies and aides have begun buzzing about a host of potential explanations and worries. Among those being bandied about is that the search was a pretext to fish for other incriminating evidence, that the FBI doctored evidence to support its search warrant — and then planted some incriminating materials and recording devices at Mar-a-Lago for good measure — and even that the timing of the search was meant to be a historical echo of the day President Richard Nixon resigned in 1974.
Better Yet Jack?
Nowhere is this divide more apparent than between House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calf.) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.).
More than 24 hours after the news of the search broke, McConnell released a statement saying the “country deserves a thorough and immediate explanation” and called on Attorney General Merrick Garland to “do so immediately.” He made no reference to Trump, but simply “the events of Monday.” Presumably he meant the search of Mar-a-Lago and not Kanye West trolling Pete Davidson over his breakup with Kim Kardashian.
The Senate minority leader’s response was a far cry from McCarthy’s aggressive statement a day earlier, charging the Justice Department had “reached an intolerable state of weaponized politicization” and vowing investigations should Republicans take control of the House next year….
Some GOPer’s gonna wait for the dust to settle….
My Name Is Jack says
I ask you t name the names of these uh “smart Republicans “ and what do I get?
A vanilla statement from your favorite Republican “Ol Mitch” demanding an “explanation?”
Once again you publish a headline that has nothing to do with the opinion piece that follows.
You can’t name One Republican who has adopted this “wait and see” attitude that you cclaim they are doing.
Once again the Republican Party is in lockstep with Trump. And illegalities?
They couldn’t care less.
If you look closely?
The question from the GOPers is about RELEASING the warrant info…,,.,
Few if any attacks against the FBI except for the likes of Rand Paul who is nut job….
Of course few have the balls of McConnell….
They have kept quiet like i say…….
Except for a tiny number of Freedom Caucus members, Republicans have suddenly gone completely silent on the search after two days screaming about abolishing the FBI.
Seems I ain’t alone in my observation, eh?
