You read THAT RIGHT….
The President of the United States , when told his Vice President COULD be hung during the protest?
Seems to have supported it?
The account of Meadows’s comment characterizing Trump’s reaction to his vice president was provided to the committee by at least one witness, according to people familiar with the investigation — but those people did not describe the tone with which the comment was made. They spoke on the condition of anonymity to be more candid about a sensitive topic.
The development was first reported by the New York Times.
The committee declined to comment. In a statement, Trump claimed the probe was “just an extension of the Democrat smear campaign.” A spokesman for Meadows did not respond to a request for comment….
…
Meadows was in and out of the dining room off the Oval Office on the day of the attack and in Trump’s presence as the riot unfolded, according to testimony provided to the committee by former White House staffers who were in the West Wing that day.
The Washington Post previously reported that Trump vented to those around him about Pence as he watched on television as rioters besieged the Capitol. At 2:24 p.m., minutes after the vice president and his family were endangered by the pro-Trump mob and forced to flee the Senate chamber, Trump tweeted that Pence lacked “courage”….

Total insanity.
Yet most Republicans continue to support this lunatic.
The Republican Party 2022.

But his support IS slipping by the hours and day…..

Oh gee !
That’s all you got Homer?
Look your obsession with Trump will never end.The point is that the majority of Republicans over the past six years have supported this crazy bastard and most still do.
The Republican Party is thoroughly “Trumpized.”You make a big deal about DeSantis.?Explain to me the difference between Trump and DeSantis and be specific.Do you contend that he is ,like say Mitt Romney or Jeb Bush? Are you that Damn dense?DeSantis is WORSE that Trump.
How about the others?Who?Josh Hawley? An out and out domestic terrorist in my view.Who else?Tom Cotton?A leading Trump apologist. Then Theres Mike Pence ,who is on a rehabilitation tour after carrying water for Trump for four years ,but out and out stealing an election was a step too far.Wasnt for DeSantis who wrote several proposals to do just that.
That’s what a lot of us have been talking about for awhile but you don’t get it.All you can see is that if the Republican Party would just get rid of Trump ?Everything would be hunky dory!
The Republican Party has fundamentally changed. They are no longer interested in “compromise?Your earlier contention that McConnell and Graham (Ol ‘Mitch and Ol’Lindsay in your parlance ) would work with Biden has been shown to be a joke.McConnell knows his “Trumpized “caucus well and no “deals” with the Democrats on major issues was gonna fly.
So yeah get rid of Trump and replace him with DeSantis ( whom many of his supporters claim is Trump but without his various personality quirks)or any one of the rest of these Trump clones. You know what’s gonna change?
Not a damn thing!
Now, before you start lying,I’ve never claimed that Trump is “God” as you have continually claimed for years. What I have said is that he is and remains as we speak, the leading figure in the Republican Party and remains, as we speak, the leading candidate for the Republican nomination in 2024.Does that mean he WILL be the candidate? No.All sorts of things can happen in two years. What I do claim is that even without Trump t,he Republican nominee will be someone in his image.
Indeed ,even many of the candidates in Republican primaries whom Trump did not endorse refuse to bad mouth him.Indeed many of them claim to still support him( see David McCormick in Pa.).Further you ,along with everyone else here ,harshly criticized the so called “election reforms “in Ga. rammed through the Trumpized legislature with the enthusiastic support of Brian Kemp and Brad Raffensperger .I suggest that their victories had as much to do with internal Republican politics in Ga as much as some latent opposition to Trump.(Note that last month polls showed Trump with over an 80% “favorable” rating from Georgia Republicans and the. Of course there is Herschel Walker whom Trump personally got to run and these Georgia Republicans heartily embraced.
So are some Republicans now tired of Trump the man?Likely yes ,and maybe that’s normal as Trump can be a wearing figure but does that mean that these same people are prepared to abandon Trumpism?
Nope.

Ok….
Response to the ur bullet points…
Trump and the party…
Donald Trump does NOT ‘OWN’ the party….
If he did?
He wouldn’t have issues in Georgia….
Yes…
His batting average with endorsements is good…
But?
As I have pointed out in a post here…
Trump, who was once a Democrat has learned how to ‘pimp’ the Grand ole Party….
He borrows their policy to advance HIS ego…
I have mentioned here several examples of how Trump’s influence has waned….
DeSantis and Pence ARE running FOR the 2024 GOP nomination…
DeSantis?
Yes…
Trump on steroids….
Yes…
Less personal baggage….
But?
Certainly a politically rich environment ..
I never have said that Trump just gets dumped…
He, he, he…
He’s just getting pushed aside but a growing number of lawmakers and voters…
He’s crying about the election was stolen form him no longer even rings a bell among those lawmakers you have pointed out won’t say bad things about him to the media…
But DO in the back rooms…
The Republican party I feel has NOT changed…
Lawmakers HAVE….
They STILL are against what they have ALWAYS been about….
Enrich the rich…Against immigration, except when they can exploit the cheap labor…Against gun control…against abortion…Against America moving to where it is going being less white…Against ‘Rights’ that would endanger their grip on power…
Joe Biden finally admitted that guys he knew when he was in Congress?
Just don’t have the balls and only vote with Democrats sparingly…
His naive view of things has caused himself and Democrats political juice and polling angst….
Now Jack?
I have said here consistently…
Democrats BEST BET for 2024 is that things catch up to Trump in the early fall of 2024 when he’s the nominee and Joe Biden is running against him….
DeSantis , ur right, probably will be tougher for Biden, Harris or even Newsom….
Me Lying?
Nope…
Different view then U?
Yup!
Back to Georgia….
80% ‘favourable’ for Trump????
Well?
WTF happen with Kemp and Ratffensperger?
They might like the Big Guy for the poll…
BUT?
They ain’t following him down the road in some places, eh?
Slippage COINTINUES…
Thanks for admitting the guy is getting ‘Tired’ for GOPer’s…….
That’s my point….

Now let’s play a little game,shall we?
After a Republican sweep in November ,Trump announces his 2024 candidacy.
Shortly thereafter , Ron DeSantis, Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton and Mike Pence jump in.Trump denounces all of them as ingrates, particularly Pence and DeSantis .
The primaries and caucuses come and go with Trump and DeSantis neck and neck but with DeSantis slightly ahead .The ones who have fallen by the wayside have collected around 100 or so delegates and these could tip the scale for one or the other .Frantic negotiations ensue as Trump files numerous challenges to the Credentials Committee as to “fraud” in the delegate selection process .His denunciation of DeSantis is particularly bitter.Trump calls for his supporters to come to the convention to “Stop the Steal.”
Despite all the hoopla, DeSantis wins a narrow first ballot nomination.Trump walks out of the Convention claiming all sorts of chicanery.DeSantis appeals to Trump for party unity and invites him to a sit down.Trump denounces him as a thief and an illegitimate nominee.
Post convention polls show that between 40- 50% of Republicans believe Trump who is talking about a convention of “Real Patriotic Republicans.”
Just a little fun ,but does anyone really believe that a defeated Trump would mount the podium, raise the victors hand, pledge his support and shout”y’all come see us down in Mar a Logo?”
Indeed, if Trump runs?Hes going to have the Republican Party by the proverbial balls. They might be able to deny him the nomination but he can deny them the election.
For the Republican Party?Quite the dilemma.
What to do about Trump?
jamesb says
Excellent scenario Jack❗️
What a shit sandwich for the Grand ole Party to try to chew on if things turned out like your gaming above….
