No surprise…..
Despite all the talk and political through downs against Senator’s Manchin and Sinema?
They joined the Republicans in not allowing a ‘set aside’ of the Senate rule……
In the end?
Democrats had to watch two of their own not move forward…..
Putting the two in the spot made no difference…..
Senate Democrats failed to change the legislative filibuster for a voting bill on Wednesday night, after Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema(D-Ariz.) voted with Republicans to oppose the rules reform, handing President Biden and the party a stinging defeat.
Senators voted 52-48 to defeat the rules change, which would have nixed the 60-vote hurdle for the election bill. To have been successful, Democrats would need total unity from all 50 of their members, plus Vice President Harris to break a tie.
The outcome of the vote was telegraphed, but it marks a defeat of Democrats’ months-long push to pass voting rights legislation, even if it meant changing the rules so they could do it alone….
Note
Do not accept that Democrats want the rule gone….
They become the Senate Minority party and they could change their minds…

Voting Rights already exist. They aren’t going anywhere.
If Democrats are serious about reform and not just about trying to exploit a manufactured outrage to raise money, they can work with Republicans to change the Electoral Count Act, which will ensure that any potential future Vice President cannot attempt to do anything to subvert the will of the people through the votes they cast.

My feeling is that some sort Voting Rights amendment will be added to a bill that HAS TO past somewhere down the line,,,,,

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell is drawing criticism for comments he made shortly before the GOP blocked a federal elections bill, when he said that “African American” voters cast ballots at similar rates to “Americans.”
The minority leader made the remark at a news conference in Washington on Wednesday, when he was asked about concerns that people of color have about voting rights.
“The concern is misplaced because if you look at the statistics, African American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans,” McConnell said…
