Do NOT be surprised with this….
With the media shoving him aside more and MORE for air time for Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis
( and Others ) one would be looking for a Trump counter….
The Big Guy has to like trying to still be the center of attention, NOT for the nation and longer….
But if not?
Certainly for Republicans….
So?
I guess he’s gotta go on the road….
Hint about 2024….
Enjoy the diminished crowds…
And?
Make MONEY $$$$….
Former President Trump will barnstorm Iowa and Georgia in the coming weeks as he looks to maintain his tight grip on the GOP base.
Trump’s leadership PAC, Save America, announced Tuesday evening that the former president will appear in Perry, Ga., on Sept. 25 and then in Des Moines, Iowa, on Oct. 9.
The rallies come as speculation mounts over Trump’s political future. The former president has flirted with a third White House bid in 2024 but has kept voters in suspense by not saying definitively if he’ll launch a comeback campaign.
Rallies are just one tool that Trump has used to keep his name front and center in GOP voters’ minds, along with doling out endorsements to candidates in midterm battles and railing against unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential race. Those efforts have paid off thus far, with most polls showing he’d handily win a 2024 GOP presidential primary.
Iowa and Georgia both play key roles in Trump’s political future.
They are key swing states, with Iowa serving as the first nominating state in the presidential cycle and Georgia emerging as the epicenter of Trump’s election fraud allegations.
The former president won Iowa by about 8 points in 2020 but narrowly lost Georgia.
As Trump has flirted with another White House bid, others have suggested more openly they are considering a run, though none have definitively confirmed plans to run against the former president.
Former Vice President Mike Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and more have traveled to Iowa and other swing states….

I haven’t noticed the media “shoving him aside.”
Every time he opens his mouth it’s reported and the speculation as to his 2024 candidacy is a daily occurrence .
Just because you “want” something to happen doesn’t mean it has happened.
And despite your man crush on DeSantis?Trump remains far and away the leading candidate fir the 2024 nomination .
Perhaps in the future that won’t be so.Im sure when it does we will be greeted with a “told ya so.”
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Fuuny, I don’t remember any “told ya so”s after I and (I think) SE were the only ones here not to predict Hillary Clinton’s victory with near-absolute certainty on Election Day 2016.
Zreebs says
I said Trump had a path to victory less than a week to the 2016 election, although Trump exceeded the electoral votes that we both thought he could get.
jamesb says
Trump surprised a LOT pod people election night 2016……
Including Himself!
Zreebs says
It is hard to believe in retrospect that there some people like James who were saying that Trump couldn’t even win the nomination. James must have made 100 posts in 2016 alone that Trump was losing support.
Just like he made 50 posts this year that Trump is losing support. Not quite.
jamesb says
Trump IS Losing support
Jack used to quote his approve in the 90 percentile range
No more….
He’s still the headliner , no doubt
But the reason he’s gonna be traveling IS because even he can feel things slipping away…..
The poll i posted had Trump leading for a possible 2024 run
But there where others at low doubke digit support
Trump IS worried Z……
And the crazy legal stuff is still waiting to drop on him…….
My Name Is Jack says
You’ve been “predicting” all these legal problems for years.
Where are they?
I’ve seen very little. That New York stuff which you ballyhooed on here for months looks to be nothing but some minor technical stuff. No one goes to jail for those type things. There will be some kind of monetary settlement.
Once again what we have is you “predicting” all sorts of doom and gloom over a period of years(you have literally been “predicting “ Trumps demise for FIVE YEARS now) and as I previously mentioned when Trump does exit the scene?
We will see your well known “Told Ya So” routine.
Clownfoolery
Ghost of SE says
I predicted a Clinton routing of Trump in 2016, like most everyone else did. And we know how that one went, hence why I quit doing predictions.
The only thing I got right was early out naming Trump as a more serious contender than most of the other much ballyhooed names(Paul “Wonder Bread” Ryan, Rube, Cruz Control). Come to think of it, the only other name that struck me as nominally serious was Ben Carson.
jamesb says
Yea Trump’s win fooled almost everyone…..
People here get insulted when i get things right……
Bit I called for Joe Biden last year when people here where hyped up for the lefties in the early running…..
I told’m lefties do NOT win South Carolina Dem Primaries……
And SC Picks the nominee these days….
For the next go around?
If he runs
I do NOT think he’ll be the nominee
And if he was?
He would LOSE AGAIN to Biden……
Zreebs says
We get insulted when you make statements that imply you know things that others don’t.
It is common knowledge that the Democratic Party is more conservative in SouthCarolina than in the vast majority of other states. Clyburn, the most prominent Democratic politician in the state is not yet even comfortable with gay people. That is rather unusual for a Democratic politician. And once Clyburn endorsed Biden, it was a virtual certainty he would win there. If you want to get credit for something, try predicting something that no one else is predicting. Once Clyburn endorsed Biden, Biden was expected to win SC, although Biden winning by a landslide there was not obvious.
Zreebs says
“Enjoy the diminished crowds”
What diminished crowds? 50,000 people recently attended Trump’s rally in the metropolis of Cullman Alabama. Whatever one thinks of Trump, that is an impressive number, and it implies that Trump remains a power.
Has Biden ever gotten a crowd of 50,000 in any of his election runs?
jamesb says
Biden , worried about virus exposure had small socially distanced events
Before ?
He shinned large events preferring more close ‘personal’ contacts
The comparison is not the reality
Even now Trump events are nothing compared to the what he had in 2016 till the end of his Presidency…..
I agree with the view that Trump ‘rallies’ now are reactive and weak…..
Zreebs says
50,000 people is a fine showing and it compares favorably to most other Trump events – including from 2016.
Biden may prefer small gatherings at least partially because so few people want to hear him speak, so a large event is nearly impossible for him.
jamesb says
Biden ‘WON’ on small group’s, masks and social distancing……..
His ‘Trump’ card was his ‘personal connect’ to people…..
I wanted him to go BIG….
But in the end?
He didn’t need it for the win
Keith says
Maybe James could predict when he will get vaccinated. A very patriotic thing to do.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Donald Trump is planning to endorse a lawyer and former Republican Party official in Wyoming in an effort to primary GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, an outspoken critic of the former President who has drawn his ire for rejecting his claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.
Citing conversations with a person familiar with Trump’s decision, the Post said he is expected to make the endorsement on Thursday, throwing his support behind Harriet Hageman, an attorney in Wyoming who until this week had served as the state’s national Republican committeewoman. Hageman has not yet officially entered the primary contest, which takes place next August….

More on Trump’s efforts to stay ‘relevant’…..
Former President Trump is trying to maintain his political relevance — and it could be a tough battle.
No one disputes that Trump is the central figure in the Republican Party. But his chief enemy right now is time.
Almost eight months into President Biden’s administration, Trump cannot command attention as easily as he once did. And if Trump really does have ambitions to be the first president since Grover Cleveland to serve nonconsecutive terms, he will need to remain central to the political landscape until 2024, while holding no office….
