A woman who accused Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of groping her breast in the Executive Mansion last year has filed a criminal complaint with the Albany County sheriff’s department, the sheriff’s office said on Friday.
The criminal complaint from the woman, an executive assistant whose name has not been publicized, increases the possibility that the governor could face criminal charges related to his behavior.
Legal experts have said that his conduct toward the assistant, as described in a 165-page report released by the New York State attorney general’s office this week, could be charged as forcible touching, a misdemeanor.
Mr. Cuomo, a third-term Democrat, has repeatedly denied ever inappropriately touching the woman, or any of the others who have accused him of sexual misconduct. On Thursday, he said he would cooperate with the State Assembly’s request for information as it concludes its investigation into his conduct and prepares to draft articles of impeachment against him…

The first to file charges IS gonna be subjected to a blistering counterattack by Cuomo’s defense lawyers…I STILL believe that Cuomo will NOT quit and THAT will put Assembly Democrats is a tough place no matter how much the media pushes for the Governor to step down…the State Trooper involved is talking about going civil which need’s less to get a win and would involve money
In a news conference streamed online, the governor’s personal lawyer, Rita Glavin, suggested that the woman, an executive assistant who has not been named, was not alone with Mr. Cuomo at the Executive Mansion on the day in question, was sent there for different reasons than she has said and had expressed no qualms about the day in emails to colleagues…

“There are many highly inappropriate and indeed reprehensible actions that an employer can take — that very much amount to sexual harassment or inappropriate contact — that will not normally be pursued criminally by a D.A.’s office,” he said.
He added, “The D.A.’s office will have to take care here neither to cut the governor a break because of his position nor to single him out.”…

muddy…..Ah, Sloppy….The simple criminal complaint against a Governor and former Attorney General was NOT kicked up to the Albany DA’s office for review…(The DA learned of the action from the news)

Even the complaintant was unaware of this move which IS NOT what u do…..
This is NOT going to make the DA up there happy and is already a opening for Cuomo’s lawyers….

Sheriff Apple on Friday appeared to defer to Mr. Soares, saying, “I feel very confident that the district attorney is going to prosecute this.”

Gosh, remember how, at the start of the Pandemic, you had media types talking about switching out Joe Biden for Andrew Cuomo as a solid bet to beat Trump? That’s aged about as well as Bill Cosby being “America’s Dad.”
Now, I was a Biden partisan from the start of the campaign, but I always knew Cuomo would be a wet dream for the Trump camp, even before all this. The easy logic is that the son of a former Governor who himself becomes Governor is going to have lots of skeletons in his closet. As it was, the whole thing with the nursing homes broke before the election if memory serves. In a race as close as that one turned out to be, Trump just might have won the popular vote and EC.
