Ok?
This IS getting a bit crazy as it SHOULD….
The Wyoming GOP House member is adamant that Donald Trump IS operating like he’s on Mars and most Republican lawmakers in Congress are looking the other way….
Heck?
Even McCarthy admitted that Trump was attached to the Capitol January 6 protests that went violent that he now has twisted his mouth on…
(Word is Trump ain’t too happy with the House Minority Leader for his knocking him either…Trump COULD turn on McCarthy after getting rid of Cheney?)
Well?
Politico is smelling trouble within the Grand ole party against McCarthy because the WHOLE Cheney thing is all over the media…
Ouch?
GRUMBLING WITH MCCARTHY BEHIND THE SCENES — Taking out Cheney (R-Wyo.) as conference chair was never going to be clean and easy for McCarthy. And this week, we’re starting to pick up on a bit of backlash against the minority leader behind the scenes. Some House Republicans are privately griping about how the California Republican has fed a colleague to the MAGA wolves in his quest to become speaker.
And no, we’re not just hearing this from ADAM KINZINGER types.
McCarthy has sought to cast doubt on Cheney’s leadership ability, arguing that it is essentially selfish to call out Trump instead of prioritizing GOP unity. But other House Republicans question his own leadership qualities.
One of them — a Republican long seen as an ally of leadership — told us Monday night he may oppose McCarthy for speaker because of all the recent drama. This person accused McCarthy of having no moral compass as he moves to punish Cheney while allowing members like Reps. MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE (R-Ga.) and MATT GAETZ (R-Fla.) to run wild.
“Kevin McCarthy has pissed off enough members of his own conference that he’s going to have to go back to his former days as a whip to try to figure out where his votes are” to become speaker, said the member, who is neither a member of the Freedom Caucus nor a moderate. “I’d be worried if I was him. … You have people like me — who are here to do the right thing for all the right reasons and have an expectation of leadership — that are, shall we say, disgusted with the internal squabbling that results from having weak leadership. And it is weak leadership. Straight up.”
A senior GOP aide to a conservative member put it this way: “He’s flip-flopped on [Jan. 6 and whether it’s] Trump’s fault, it’s not Trump’s fault. … It seems like he doesn’t have the backbone to lead. He bends to political pressure. It’s tough to do when you’re speaker. You have to lead.”
On the other end of the ideological spectrum, a group of conservatives feel like they’ve been boxed in with Rep. ELISE STEFANIK (R-N.Y.), as McCarthy moved to lock her in as Cheney’s replacement. McCarthy’s move to clear the field when others wanted to run for the job has upset some on the right, though Stefanik’s announcement that she would only serve for one term has assuaged some of these concerns.
McCarthy’s move against Cheney has arguably helped his standing with Trump, who was angered by the GOP leader’s initial decision to stand by her. But the former president is still lukewarm on McCarthy, we’re told, and loyalty with Trump often runs only one way….
Note…
Would be No surprise for this dog….
Just a continuation of things Trump ‘turning to shit’…..

More drama on the Cheney actions and the ‘party’
Elise Stefanik on Tuesday faced her first formal pushback from a conservative colleague on her apparent glide path to the House GOP’s No. 3 leadership spot after Liz Cheney’s expected ouster from the role.
Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas), a member of the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus, sent a memo to every Republican office in the chamber arguing that Stefanik should not be serving in leadership. But Roy hardly embraced Cheney’s continued presence atop the conference, also asserting that the Wyoming Republican no longer deserves to be conference chair….

Won’t have any effect upon him at all.
Unlike you?McCarthy well understands what has happened to the Republican Party.
Republican voters don’t give a damn about Liz Cheney. In a poll released yesterday, just 18% opposed her removal.50% actively supported it and the rest were indifferent.

I might add those numbers basically reflect where the Republican Party is today.
We know that 70% have consistently ,since Nov.,supported the Big Lie.Those are hardcore Trumpites.Another 7% or so say they are “unsure” or words to that effect. It is only logical to assume that a number of those people still support or ,at least are not actively opposed to Trump.Lets assume around half(probably rather conservative there.)That brings his support to around 74%.That leaves the 23% or so who don’t endorse the Big Lie.
Such, however doesn’t mean they necessarily don’t support Trump. We have seen the phenomenon, within the Party ,of people saying they “don’t like” Trump ,and even verbally attack him ,yet still vote for him(see John Boehner) .There are no polls Im aware of that have followed up on finding the number of those who oppose the Big Lie but still support Trump.
Once again ,simple logic dictates ,based on past experience, that a lot of them do.Accordingly let’s be “conservative “and say only a third do.That would add around 7% more to his support bringing him to around 80 -82% support leaving around 18 – 20% in opposition ,or about the same number who oppose Liz Cheney’s ouster.
We can quibble with the exact numbers here and there;however, it is logical in my view to conclude that today?
Donald Trump has the support of a little over 80% of those who call themselves “Republican “ and yes that merits the term,
“Overwhelming.”

I don’t think McCarthy comes out of this in great shape. He is clearly sacrificing Cheney in the hope that his lord (Trump) will be pleased. McCarthy says the GOP is a big tent party, but who is underneath that tent, and who is not allowed to be. I am not convinced that the GOP is poised to do well in the midterms. The image of the GOP right now is pretty bad. And Trump will still be expecting more from McCarthy. If McCarthy fails to retake the House at the midterms, I doubt he survives as minority leader.

Good speech by Cheney last night. Too bad the Republicans didn’t stay to hear it.
