We’ll see what the vengeful Donald Trump does going forward….
Does he listen and stop…
Or?
Does he proceed go after those who he feel’s ‘wronged’ him thus actually helping Democrats keep their US House majority?
Despite the ‘it’s Trump’s party ‘ stuff…
Republicans ARE attempting to go back to running the party without Trump’s help….
National Republican Congressional Committee chair Tom Emmer said Wednesday that former President Donald Trump should back down on attempting to primary GOP lawmakers who voted to impeach him.
“He can do whatever he wants,” Emmer (R-Minn.) said. “But I would tell him that it’s probably better for us that we keep these people and we make sure that we have a majority that can be sustained going forward.”
“That’s not gonna be helpful,” the NRCC chair said of Trump weighing in.
Emmer predicted in an interview with POLITICO Playbook authors Eugene Daniels and Rachael Bade that he and Trump will have a conversation “at some point.”
With broad support in the Republican Party, Trump still looms large within the GOP and has already begun wading into 2022 primaries. Addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference last weekend, the former president read off the names of every Republican in the House and Senate who voted to impeach or convict him, pushing to “get rid of them all.”….

Oh yeah this will put Trump in his place!
Trump couldn’t care less what this nobody Congresssman says.
In fact he might summons this guy to Mar a Largo for a dressing down and a picture he can show off to his constituents when he “clarifies” his remarks.

We’ll be treated to these stories every few weeks I bet. Some on here will insist it shows the GOP is moving on from Trump.

They ARE…..
Slowly….

If the GOP is moving in any direction, right now it is towards Trump!

Until the Trumpettes lose a respectable number of those revenge primaries, I see no way that the Grand Old Party is moving away from Trump.
The more successful and complete his takeover is, however, the more likely that Never-Trumpers will
[1] disengage from active politics (as vs journalism, think tanks, books, filling TV panels, etc.);
[2] follow a historical drift towards the Democratic Party or supporting Democratic candidates (cf. Leon Panetta, Linc Chafee et al.), o
[3] join some existing third party, such as the Libertarians; or
[4] start forming a breakaway movement or party of their own (like the 1912 Bull Moose Progressives).

Yes DSD….
My point….
Trump IS splintering the ‘party’….
THAT means it’s NOT his in it’s entirety
Like Jack wants me ti believe…
There are NO ABSOLUTES…
Jack and I do this all the time…
Gives things different prospective…
jamesb says
Hmmmm?
THIS seems to KEEP happening?…..
A GOP senator who opposed both impeachments of former President Trump said Sunday that he believes impeachment-supporting Republicans such as Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) still have a place in the party.
In an interview with Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) pushed back against Trump’s call this week for Republicans to replace both Cheney and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), the latter of whom the former president vowed to personally campaign against, while not addressing Trump’s criticism….

The problem of course is the only “evidence” ,if you can call it that ,of these daily assertions of yours is a few miscellaneous quotes that are almost vanilla in their significance.
Take this unknown Congressman Emmer? You seize upon his very gentle disagreeing with Trump as a big deal.Totally insignificant.Apparently ,you don’t understand that his job is to boost the re-election of All RepublicanCongresspeople.Seen in that light, what else could he say?
Then there’s you new found adulation of shifty Mitch McConnell.Today on FoxNews ,Mitch refused to reiterate his earlier condemnation of Trump.Likely his office is being inundated with messages from Trumpites(who, despite your blather to the contrary ,constitute an overwhelming majority of the Republican Party) blasting his previous statements.
And finally ,we have your always erudite “Analysis” consisting of your trite observations that Trump”is out for himself”(true,so what?),”everything he touches turns to shit,”( once again ,what does that have to do with anything?) and that he is a “loser”(except ,quite apparently ,to the vast majority of Republicans).
Maybe Trumps influence will wane as time goes on.I don’t think he will be the nominee in 2024.All of that though is pure speculation.
The only thing any rational observer can say now?Is that Trump maintains a firm grip on the Republican Party, the anti Trumpers have yet to show anything ,beyond some speeches and other insignificant remarks here and there, and your daily harangues on the subject are nothing but insignificant ,unprovable mouthing of one whose reputation for such is well known here indeed.

You can sing till the cows come home
The Grand ole Party is NOT UNITED behind Donald Trump…
As you point out i HAVE given numerous examples of the disharmony….
I will continue to do so….
You probably go back and forth between it’s 100% Trump’s party and it’s 99.9% his….
That’s fine with me….
I ‘ll just keep throwing down the opposition stuff…
And of-course i will continue to say that Trump ‘s ego will have him tearing the ass of a party he really don’t give a shit about …
