When I first saw this this afternoonI thought it was something new…

This HAS a political smell to it…
Donald Trump & Co, has been trying to use Hunter Biden’s action to stop the Joe Biden campaign for some time….
The original money-laundering focus has not proved out….
The current focus is said to be about tax issues ….
The IRS and Justice Departments BOTh will come under the control of the Biden admin in less than two months….
“I’m not going to be telling them what they have to do and don’t have to do. I’m not going to be saying go prosecute A, B or C,” Mr. Biden said in an interview with CNN. “It’s not my Justice Department. It’s the people’s Justice Department.”

I did not say Biden would “bail”, I said there are people on the left who will want him to.
Whomever the next AG is, if you think they would feel personally conflicted in doing their job in regards to a matter in Delaware out of personal loyalty to Biden or because they feel personal sympathy for him, then they should absolutely recuse themselves from the matter (as Jeff Sessions felt appropriate to do so) and have the matter assigned to a Special Counsel.
We are getting rid of a lawless Administration. Those of us who voted for Biden (which oddly enough included myself) should demand that there is not a repeat. Hunter Biden is an adult. *If* he broke the law, then he needs to face the consequences.
As someone who had to put aside tremendous reservations to vote for Biden, the *last* thing I would want to see happen in the next four years is for Kamala Harris to become President.
The article quotes the things Trump said before the election to Fox and Friends about Hunter Biden.
Common sense dictates that he had no idea that Hunter Biden was already under investigation and had been since 2018 or he would have been saying something very different in trying to keep his job.
Unless we learn something drastically different, all signs point to the Justice Department playing this by the book. Nothing leaked which could have influenced an election. We all have heard how conflicted James Comey was in regards to all of that in 2016 and how much criticism he faced for “breaking norms” in speaking publicly.
The Justice Department under the next AG must also follow the book on this regardless of whom a subject of an investigation is related to.

I stand by what I said before. There are plenty of leftists on Twitter who would want Biden to stand down now and would prefer Harris instead. As I have made clear, I certainly do not want to see that happen.
I absolutely “predict” that the calls for Biden to leave on 1/21/23 will increase. If he leaves on that day or later, Harris can theoretically run as an incumbent in the next two elections ’24 and ’28 and history shows it is tough to beat an incumbent.
Of course some here, and perhaps Biden himself, expect that he will be running in 2024 for reelection.

Democratic Socialists of America (after Bernie Sanders’ concession) refused to either endorse or congratulate Joe Biden.
But I can’t see them considering Kamala Harris, with her prosecutorial record (and despite her gender or ancestry), as being significantly preferable.
