Pre-K kids are scheduled to start this Monday…
Under mounting pressure from unions and elected officials, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Thursday that the city will delay in-person learning for students in all grades above pre-K.
Classroom learning will proceed Monday for 3-k and Pre-K kids along with special needs students in the Department of Education’s District 75, de Blasio said.
All grades had been slated to return Sept. 21.
Kindergarten through fifth grade students will begin classroom learning on Sept. 29 and middle and high school kids will start on Oct. 1.
“This morning I start with our clear strong dedication to our public schools and to in-person learning,” de Blasio said as he made the announcement during a City Hall press briefing. “But I also want to be clear and very straightforward about the fact that real concerns have been raised by my colleagues.”….
