Most state’s admit that the number is a guess, since there are non virus guess’s and states add back dated numbers all the time…
….The NY Times ran a story today that seems to have mistakes in it….
Even the White House virus Task Force won’t stand by the projection from the Federal Emergency Management Agency…
Some feel that the higher numbers could be a effort to counter the increased number of states moving cut back virus restrictions…Thew higher numbers seem to be for absolutely NO social distancing, masks, or anything else…THAT is NOIT the case even as states open up…NY’s numbers have steadily dropped..But Red state’s that did NOT go with restrictions like NY have had increased numbers…
Trump seems to be positioning himself to be on the record if any higher numbers come in and be able to say he did something if they come in lower…
Trump had used the 60k figure before…

“The President’s phased guidelines to open up America again are a scientific driven approach that the top health and infectious disease experts in the federal government agreed with,” Deere said. “The health of the American people remains President Trump’s top priority and that will continue as we monitor the efforts by states to ease restrictions.”
The person familiar with the documents said the findings were presented on an interagency call. But the White House task force, which is led by Vice President Mike Pence, may not have been included, the person said….

The numbers are for if there was NO social distancing to continue which isn’t gonna be the case …Trump, being who he is ?

Trump did not “announce 100000 deaths.He said that we may have 100000 deaths total .
Then you say that we have around 65000 deaths and are “averaging “1000-1500 deaths a day.
Sooooo…assuming that daily rate continues for a month (Thats thirty days) .Well now and follow this closely James,lets say the low end of your scale 1100 a day,the see you take 1100x 30 and what do you get?
33000!
Now stay with me here you add 33000 to 65000 and you have 99000 deaths total by say A month from today.
