Hanks’s Twitter post came just minutes after President Trump delivered a statement Wednesday night from the Oval Office about the global health crisis, in which he announced travel restrictions from Europe to stymie the spread of the virus.
The Academy Award-winning performer has been a frequent visitor to Washington. Last October, he headlined a gala for the Elizabeth Dole Foundation. In December, he attended the Kennedy Center Honors, where he talked politics with ITK.
“Anybody can become president of the United States,” Hanks, 63, said at the time.
“If anybody says so-and-so cannot become president of the United States, take a gun and shoot them in the foot,” Hanks quipped….
