NBC has just reported this…..
He will support Joe Biden…..
JUST IN:
…
Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York who had hoped to self-fund his way to the Democratic presidential nomination but was spurned by voters in Tuesday’s balloting, has dropped out of the race.
Bloomberg endorsed Biden, saying the former vice president had the best chance to win in November.
“I’ve always believed that defeating Donald Trump starts with uniting behind the candidate with the best shot to do it. After yesterday’s vote, it is clear that candidate is my friend and a great American, Joe Biden,” Bloomberg said in a statement.
The media tycoon worth an estimated $60 billion entered the race in November and quickly spent hundreds of millions of dollars of his own money to flood social media, television and radio with ads that boasted “Mike Will Get It Done.” In a still-crowded field, Bloomberg projected an image through the airwaves of a moderate candidate with the governing experience, bravado and financial resources to take on President Trump.
Through exorbitant sums of money and despite skipping the first four state nominating contests, Bloomberg managed to rise in national polls, earning the ire of fellow candidates, who accused him of trying to buy his way to the nomination. His unconventional campaign schedule also meant that Bloomberg avoided any truly unscripted public appearances until the Feb. 19 Democratic debate in Las Vegas, for which he qualified after the Democratic National Committee changed its rules to eliminate a donor threshold….

Thank you Mike for spending your $$ and getting under that thin Trumpublican skin.
Hope you are ready to write checks for Senate races in Maine, Colorado, North Carolina, Arizona, Georgia and Iowa!
Keith says
He will be and he’s hired all that staff through November. They need something to do Scott.

I’m not so sure as James that it’s all over for Bernie Sanders. (Of course he’ll stick it out at least until and only if Biden wins an absolute majority of delegates.)
But, so far, the only blue (& Obama-Biden) states that Joe Biden has carried have been Minnesota and Massachusetts (ironically one is the only state to vote for McGovern in 1972 and the other the only state to vote for Mondale in 1984).
Bernie Sanders has carried the blood-red state of Utah [which has not voted for a Democrat since LBJ in 1964], and the purplish swing states of Iowa [Dukakis-Clinton-Clinton-Gore-Bush-Obama-Obama-Trump] and Colorado [D in 1964, 1992 & 2004-16], as well as the bluer states of Vermont, New Hampshire and Nevada.
Of course there’s no necessary correlation about how “left” a state votes in a multi-party general election and how “left” in an internal Democratic (or GOP) nomination contest.
But on the other hand it’s not altogether surprising that the more “moderate“ candidate wins more support in a “conservative” state. If all of the state’s voters are more conservative than the middle, then that may very well apply to the subset of Democratic voters.

Really as far as nominating a candidate?
I don’t understand this blue state red state deal.
I mean let’s say this were a contest for the Republican nomination? You think a candidate wouldn’t care about winning California because it’s highly unlikely to back the Republican in November?
Of course not.
As I said yesterday ,on another topic ,you take your votes where you can get them.Blue state ?Red state? In a fight for the nomination?I don’t see that it matters.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Correction and addition: Colo voted D in 2008, 2012 & 2016; she voted for Dole and twice for GWBush.
And the deep-blue state of California [R 1968-88; D 1992-2016] appears likely to tip not towards Joe Biden but towards Bernie Sanders.

The Mooch and George Conway are now supporting Biden.
Would Team Biden reject those endorsements the way some dumb staffer rejected Jim Comey’s?
Democratic Socialist Dave says
How would Kellyanne react?
jamesb says
The Moch said Trump would quit this month..
we’re waiting….
Scott P says
I admit it was a dumb mistake for the Biden campaign to react to Comey’s vote that way.
It also got next to no news compared to how what an incredible day Joe had yesterday.
Odd that someone who “wants” Biden to be successful and is so “optimistic” chooses to keep harping on something no one else cares about. Hell Comey has probably forgotten it by now
CG says
Real “elephants” never forget.
