As Donald Trump loses more and more cases in the Federal Courts….
And those cases are appealed up to the Nation’s highest court…
Will the justices of the US Supreme Court be able to follow the ‘rule of law’….
Or?
Will they show their ‘loyalty‘ to the guy who gave a few of them their jobs and pay-checks….
And overrule just about every Federal appellate judge across the country?
And make Congress just a bystander to a President’s actions…
It announced Tuesday that it will consider on Dec. 13 whether to schedule a full briefing and argument on the president’s request that it overturn a lower-court ruling giving New York prosecutors access to Trump’s tax returns and other financial records in their investigation of hush-money payments in the lead-up to the 2016 election.
There are many more such evaluations to come.
“This is a real existential test for this Supreme Court,” said Walter Dellinger, a longtime member of the Democratic legal establishment who argued for President Bill Clinton when the Supreme Court ruled he was not immune from a lawsuit.
“This will be a special moment for the independence of the judiciary and whether the hyperpartisanship that has infected so much of our culture has also infiltrated the Supreme Court.”…
Admittedly, I have not studied the Court opinions that are being appealed.
However, to claim that if the Supreme Court rules in Trumps favor that they are not following the “rule of law” and are simply being “loyal” to him is unfair in the extreme.
I’m not saying that the Supreme Court isn’t capable of erroneous rulings .What I am saying is that just because one doesn’t agree with their ruling in a particular case doesn’t necessarily mean that there is something nefarious about the ruling.
My question stands….
You ARE correct that judges generally make smart and informed judgements based on the law…
BUT?
Judges ARE human beings like the rest of us…
In their minds ARE some politics and YES, I believe favouritism ….
I pose , in the pice, in question form , a fair question…
One might have come to realise that media description of federal judges now ROUTINELY give their appointing President (Meaning political party)….
Supreme Court justices ARE defined by their political leanings…
They ARE prejudged to the media EVERYDAY in political, not law terms….
We ARE in a hyper political time period….
Donald Trump & Co. ARE counting on this…

Justice Clarence Thomas is joining public criticism of Joe Biden whose handling of Thomas’ 1991 Supreme Court confirmation hearings when he was a senator has been a flash point in the former vice president’s 2020 presidential campaign.
In a forthcoming documentary, “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words,” Thomas lashes out at Democrats and Biden, who chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee and oversaw his confirmation process.
