The choice of the next Prime Minster for Israel will be decided by several of the countries political parties on the left…Not the right as the countries Prime Minister choose to run for re-election...Benny Gantz is working to put together HIS coalition government…
Donald Trump also lost tonight in Israel in backing Netanyahu….
Arabs in the country could be seeing a new outreach to them by Israel….
Kahol Lavan leader Benny Gantz told supporters late Tuesday night that he had already reached out to the heads of the two Zionist left wing parties – Labor and the Democratic Union – to begin talks to establish a unity government. He said he also intended to reach out to Avigdor Lieberman, the head of Yisrael Beiteinu.
“I plan to speak to everyone,” he said, as he greeted and thanked hundreds of supporters gathered in Tel Aviv for a post-election rally, urging them to wait patiently for the final results.
He did not mention, however, reaching out to the Joint List of Arab parties, which was one of the big surprises of the election – emerging as the third largest party, according to the exit polls. After his speech, Gantz reached out to Ayman Odeh, leader of the Joint List, on the phone.
The Kahol Lavan leader said that his top objective in the aftermath of the election would be to heal the divisions in Israeli society. “I promise tonight to start the journey of repairing Israeli society,” he said….

It will be some time before we know for sure whom the PM of Israel may be.
I hope the result is one where we can say Bye-Bye (or Shalom) Bibi. Thank you for your lifetime of service, but it is time to go, as nobody should stay in power forever. Term limits are good.
I would hope that with a change of government, Israel can make the ethical reforms needed within government and that the new Prime Minister would continue to ensure that Israel remains vital, prosperous, and eternally ready to defend itself against all enemies.

It WILL probably be bye..bye…Bibi…Gantz is working with left parties NOT Bibi’s hard righties…
Bibi also has some legal issues cooking in the background…
CG says
“Left-parties” may be a bit of a misnomer at this point. Gantz is certainly not a leftist or a dove. Yes, there are often coalition governments, as is the case in many democracies. What Lieberman and the right-wing party does there of course will have much to do with the result. They are to the “right” of Likud. Both sides will be courting them.

Could Bibi’s flop be a sign about Trump’s election next year????
My Name Is Jack says
I don’t see any correlation between an Israeli election and an American election.
jamesb says
Bibi ran hard Right in Israel….
His guy Donald supported him…
Bibi has a trail of legal problems as Prime Minister…
Yup!….
I see some similarities….
And of course they BOTH are losers….
Stay tuned….
This COULDS be a blue print for next November in the US of A…..
Zreebs says
Low correlation. I do think that there was something going on worldwide that caused the election of pro-nationalist parties in Europe and US circa 2016.

I am predicting that Trump will do worse with American Jews in the election than Netanyahu did with Israeli Jews.
jamesb says
I agree with the idea that Jews will NOT line up to dance with Trump….
Bibi isn’t that popular I’d think among some American Jews , who want security for Israel , but also would like peace for the country with Arabs…
CG says
Well, American Jews know that Israel is not the problem in regards to that and that the problem lies with those who want to destroy Israel.
American Jews have tended to vote heavily Democrat for generations now, primarily over domestic issues. That’s a whole other topic of discussion,
There are Republican Jews (such as yours truly, as well as people like Bill Kristol) who have rejected Trump out of hand from Day 1 and will never support him, but there are also non- traditional Republican Jews who think Trump is the greatest thing ever.
There is also certainly concern at large about growing anti-Semitism on both the far right and far left.
