The last minute effort by some Democratic House members in safe districts and latino’s to limit Trump’s ability to use funds in the bill for funding the humanitarian crisis at the border has failed….
House Speaker Pelosi after promising to address their concerns and rewrite her chambers bill ran into SEVERAL brick walls….
First….
President Trump vowed to veto any thing different than the passed less restrictive US Senate Bill….That bill passed 84 to 8…..Which means that MOST Democratic Senator’s voted FOR their chambers bill…
Second….
Democratic House members in districts that just came over from Trump and others became uneasy with the prospect of NO bill passage at ALL….
The Senate version WAS passed by the House…..
The media is calling this a BIG victory for Trump…..
Ok….
But for Democrats?
It is a warning sign….
Progressives and others may want to run the Democratic lawmakers to left on the issues….
THAT is as I have been saying here …The short …’feel good’ game….
THAT is NOT gonna reward Democrats with the Presidency next time, nor is it gonna help with overall House and Senate elections….
While most of the Democrats vying for the parties Presidential nomination are coming at things form the left?
The guy leading the pack , by 2 to 1 (and Trump by almost 10% its )is ole’ Joe Biden’ the centralist…
THAT has been consistent….
THAT isn’t a coincidence…
The border bill move by Pelosi isn’t one either….
As Republican keep proving…
Ya gotta have the votes to be the majority….
Ya must have the Presidency….
You play the long game, VOTE and win….
THEN you can dictate the terms ….
Update 5:22 p.m.:
The House cleared a $4.6 billion emergency aid package to address the humanitarian crisis at the border, sending the bill to President Donald Trump for his signature.
The overwhelming vote in favor of the bill comes after Speaker Nancy Pelosi fought Republicans and members of her own caucus to push for additional language to protect migrant children before conceding to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Original article:
Speaker Nancy Pelosi formally bowed to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in a weeks-long battle with the GOP over the border aid bill, saying the House will take up the Senate’s version of the relief package.
The move caps four days of havoc amid a contentious debate within Pelosi’s caucus over how to respond to the mounting humanitarian crisis.
In a stunning reversal, Pelosi halted a planned vote on the House Democrats’ version of the border aid bill as she and her deputies faced a revolt by a group of more than 18 Democratic centrists, who vowed to tank the bill on the floor….

If I’ve found the relevant roll call, then the vote among Democrats was hardly overwhelming:
129 aye
95 nay
10 not voting
Among Republicans, however, it was a landslide
176 aye
7 nay
15 not voting
And summed together, the overall House was overwhelming:
305 aye
102 nay
25 not voting

I wouldn’t expect that Democrats where happy about the ‘take it or leave it’ GOPer ultimatum dropped on them DSD….
On Immigration Democrats are following….
There action can only be stop gap until they get the Presidency and or the US Senate…
They are in a bad place…
