Stop with the guessing!
Rick Gates is still cooperating with federal prosecutors in “several ongoing investigations” and isn’t ready to be sentenced yet, lawyers for special counsel Robert Mueller and the former Trump campaign deputy said in a court filing Friday.
The one-page joint status report to the U.S. District Court in Washington doesn’t offer any additional information about the extent of Gates’ cooperation, except to request another 60-day delay before checking back in with the federal judge who ultimately will sentence Gates.
Gates has been cooperating for more than a year with federal prosecutors since he pleaded guilty to financial fraud and lying to investigators. He served as a Mueller star witness in last summer’s Paul Manafort trial, which secured a conviction and ultimately a sentence of nearly 7.5 years against the former Trump campaign chairman.
Attorneys for Mueller and Gates before Friday had already filed status reports four times with the court requesting delays in his sentencing while he helps investigators as part of his plea deal…..

There are reports that he has numerous stalled indictments on hold…..
Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said Sunday that it doesn’t appear that special counsel Robert Mueller is preparing to conclude his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
“I’m an outsider now, and I don’t still run the Southern District of New York, and I’m not aware of what’s going on with various investigations that sometimes intersect with the special counsel’s investigation,” Bharara said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
“But I think people should view with some skepticism the notion that gets breathlessly reported every week that the Mueller investigation is coming to an end.”….
