Tired and worried about their guy, who seems to NOT be able to make a ‘deal’?
Several Republican US Senate lawmakers , and Jared Kushner, are trying to craft a way to offer Democrats concessions against the Trump administrations anti-immigration policies in exchange for money for a wall for Trump….
The chances for this are small to non-existent….
Trump can’t sign off on an immigration deal that his base call’s amnesty and Pelosi can’t give Trump anything that looks like $5 Billion for a wall…
Republicans in the U.S. Senate last month did not oppose funding the government without giving President Donald Trump money for a border wall.
This month, they do.
The difference between then and now is that Trump has wholeheartedly embraced the concept of shutting down parts of the federal government to force congressional Democrats to support funding for the wall.
The reversal suggests that a funding bill similar to last month’s could pass in this Congress, too, but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) refuses to allow a vote on any spending bill that does not have the support of the president.
It’s possible a bill to reopen the government could pass with enough support to override a presidential veto. But Republicans suggested Wednesday they wouldn’t dare.
“I’m going to defer to the president on the best strategy and I would never vote to override a veto on something that the president didn’t think was the best approach,” Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) told HuffPost while carrying a lapdog named Mitch to McConnell’s office on Wednesday.
Other Republicans scoffed at the prospect of overriding a veto. Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), a member of GOP leadership, called the prospect of 20 Republicans joining all Democrats in bucking Trump over the wall “a waste of time,” adding that it would “never happen.”
But if this Congress worked as the founders intended ― as a branch of government that is equal to the White House ― lawmakers could at least be given a chance to vote on a bill to reopen the government ― especially one they already passed less than a month ago….

This effort NEVER had a chance…
A last-ditch effort by a group of Senate Republicans to end the partial government shutdown and clinch a long-stalled immigration deal quickly unraveled on Thursday.
Senators said their talks were basically dead, underscoring the uphill climb any potential agreement has amid the entrenched border fight.
The shutdown is expected to become the longest in history on Saturday when it breaks the 21-day record set during the Clinton administration.
“I think we’re stuck. I just don’t see a pathway forward,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told reporters. “I don’t know who to talk to and I don’t know what else to do.”
Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) after a closed-door Senate GOP lunch, said the talks had “run into some difficulties,” and blamed an unwillingness on the part of President Trump and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to make a deal…..

The growing feeling is that Trump WILL declare the national emergency as a why for him to look like he defied the Democrats and Congress, he’ll raid the Treasury for disaster aid money and have Congress block the use of that money (from taxpayers)for any construction on a wall which they already have done up to now…from taxpayers….
Then things go to court where Trump’s actions being upheld are 50/50…..
But it would be a out for Trump who is stuck and could Rooster around saying that got his way even though he didn’t….
