Stone knew this was coming…..
Anyone who thinks Robert Mueller and Company is about finished needs to shut up…..
Stone was connected to the Trump campaign and Steve Bannon in the release of stolen and released Democratic emails by Wikileaks….
Mueller and the US Attonery for the Southern District of New York continue to pursue and criminally charge additional members of the Trump 2016 campaign operation along with others….
There would seem to be many more that are in legal jeporty….
And….
New York State along with other states are investigating other Trump related actions….
Roger Stone has been indicted by a grand jury on charges brought by special counsel Robert Mueller, who alleges that the longtime Donald Trump associate sought stolen emails from WikiLeaks that could damage Trump’s opponents at the direction of “a senior Trump Campaign official.”
White House press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Friday said the arrest of former Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone has no links to the president.
“The charges brought against Mr. Stone have nothing to do with the president, nothing to do with the White House,” Sanders said on CNN.
Sanders refused to say whether President Trump directed campaign officials to reach out to Stone about stolen Democratic emails published by Wikileaks during the 2016 campaign…..
Note….
Will Stone ‘turn’?
Or?
Will he sit in jail like Manafort?
…
FiveThirtyEight does an analysis of what it thinks of the ramifications of the Stone arrest….
The charges are related to Stone’s communications with WikiLeaks during the 2016 campaign, when the organization released thousands of emails from Democratic officials that were allegedly hacked by Russian agents. According to the indictment, Trump campaign officials were interested in learning about WikiLeaks’ releases of the stolen information that might be damaging to Hillary Clinton and an unnamed senior campaign figure was even “directed” to reach out to Stone to ask about the timing of future releases and the nature of the information WikiLeaks had about Clinton.
The documents don’t spell out a clear connection between the Trump campaign and Russia. Stone left his official role with the campaign in August 2015 and was only serving as an informal adviser in the summer and fall of 2016, when he was allegedly in touch with WikiLeaks. But the latest development is significant because unlike previous indictments of people close to Trump, which were for charges like unrelated financial wrongdoingor making false statements about a real estate deal, Stone’s indictment is the first time Mueller has charged someone connected to Trump’s campaign with misconduct related to Russia’s election interference. The indictment also indicates that Mueller has evidence that Trump campaign officials were aware of the existence of the stolen emails before they were released….

Special counsel Robert Mueller notched yet another legal victory on Monday even though his Russia investigation is over, as a federal appeals court rejected a bid to reexamine a lawsuit questioning the constitutionality of his appointment.
In a one-sentence order, a three-judge panel from the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals turned back a request for a rehearing of a case it decided in February arguing that Mueller should have been nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate. Separately, the D.C. Circuit on Monday also denied a petition for a rehearing before the full court….
