The guy hasn’t done anything yet….
Saying this is maybe good for juicing up the base….
This actually happening isn’t something possible in the near future…
But the more this is in the media?
The more it will ALSO bring out those on the Right out to vote…
Even before Brett Kavanaugh won the Senate’s consent to ascend to the Supreme Court, liberals started looking for ways to remove him.
A petition to impeach Kavanaugh has gathered over 125,000 signatures, progressive groups have raised money to expel him from the federal bench and a key Democratic lawmaker has promised to investigate the judge if the party retakes the House in November.
While it’s highly unlikely Kavanaugh will become the first Supreme Court justice in American history to be removed (Samuel Chase was impeached in 1804 but was acquitted by the Senate and remained on the bench), the calls for his ouster speak to the fury felt by the liberal base.
Kavanaugh is being sworn in Saturday so he can immediately begin work on the court, which started its term on Monday.
“An accused sexual predator who committed perjury by repeatedly lying under oath to the Senate Judiciary Committee has no business being a judge — period,” said Heidi Hess, co-director of the liberal group CREDO Action, which organized the Kavanaugh impeachment petition.
“We will particularly focus on making sure House Democrats know that progressives expect them to use their full power to get Kavanaugh off the bench if they gain control of the House,” she added. “A majority of Americans opposed Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court and we believe a majority will ultimately support his impeachment as well.”
Donald Trump Jr. warned Republicans about the possibility on Friday…

CREDO Action (whose e-mails I receive although not always read) seems to either have gone off the deep end or decided to exploit the current rage on the left to gather volunteers, contributions and signatures.
CREDO Action is also trying to rally progressives in favour of removing all support and Democratic caucus offices from Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W. Va). You can’t want this pure a party and also hope to take back the U.S. Senate.
When the reverse sentiments were expressed on the Republican right against the liberal, pro-choice heresies of then-GOP Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R-RI) —who among other things wouldn’t vote for the Iraq War or Geo. W. Bush’s re-election — the Republican strategist Arthur Finkelstein declared that “A Republican from Rhode Island is like a gift from the Gods” [and therefore not to be despised or taken lightly]. National establishment and conservative leaders who’d long disagreed strongly with Lincoln Chafee came into Rhode Island to support him in the 2006 GOP primary against Cranston Mayor Steve Laffey, someone whose views were far closer to their own (and distant from those of the average R.I. voter). Keeping a Republican majority in the U.S. Senate was far more important.
Chafee won the primary but still lost the general to current U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI, re-elected in 2012 and facing another re-election next month). And the GOP lost control of the Senate.
Liberals, progressives and Democrats who share CREDO Action’s position need to grow up and learn from a party whose success has far outstripped what’s left of its merits.

I too receive the CREDO on line stuff
I agree with you DSD….
Different races require different political stances from party lawmakers
The purity thing could cost when Democrats NEED every Senate spot they can get
Nationaztion of races works in some places and not in others

Here’s some of Joe Manchin’s voting record:
https://ballotpedia.org/Joe_Manchin_III
Had a Republican held his seat, there might have been a lot more damage to the ACA.
The GOP tax cuts passed over his opposition.
He tried to reach reasonable compromises (with I think Pat Toomey of Pa) on gun-safety background checks, but the NRA literally shot them down.
I haven’t seen his recent numerical or percentage ratings, but in this Congress, every Democrat has to be to the left of every Republican (as has been the case for over a decade).
My Name Is Jack says
Democrats opposition to Manchin is ridiculous.
scott says
I agree. I don’t think this will affect Manchin’s standing among the remaining Democrats in West Virginia.
These are Bernie or Bust type purists nowhere near the state.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
And here are Joe Manchin’s ratings from various policy-interest groups:
https://votesmart.org/candidate/evaluations/7547/joe-manchin-iii#.W7u9w2hKjIU
Some of them are rather mixed, generally trending more liberal after 2014, but labor and business both like him far more than the ideological and evangelical right (e.g. the Family Research Council and the Club for Growth). Some of his ratings on abortion- rights and gun control are less conservative than one might expect. And he gets high ratings from the NAACP and Leadership Conf. on Civil Rights.
What is very clear, however, is that letting a Republican (in W. Virginia today that means, I think, pretty any much any Republican; we’re not talking Howard Baker or John Sherman Cooper here) take Joe Manchin’s seat would shift many important Senate votes to the Right, and give more victories to Mitch McConnell’s crew.

There is no basis to impeach Kavanaugh.
There is no chance he would be convicted of anything.
This is stupid and those who advocate it are idiotic.
CG says
The House Judiciary Chairman to be is suggesting he will move towards that direction

Nancty Pelosi has said she is opposed to any effort to impeach Kavenaugh.
As I am. And Jack is.
Of course the Trump Republican line will be that all Democrats want to impeach him. And of course CG parrots the claims of his party’s leader.
CG says
I heard Pelosi on tv say that it was “too early” to tell if they would impeach him from the *lower court* position.
We will see what happens next year (assuming Democrats have the House.) Yes, it would be dumb beyond all belief if they do a thing.
CG says
Suffice to say Keith will disagree and ask for Kavanaugh to be impeached and jailed.
scott says
Your talking point on this is identical to Trump’s.
Your metamorphisis is complete young Jedi.
scott says
Funny how much you sound like a “secret Democrat”
CG says
I don’t think I sound like a Democrat, but if I wanted to, it would be easy. I wouldn’t even have to rely on Teagan Goddard to post articles to know what I think.
scott says
You sound like a Trump Republocan to me. Or just Republican. Same difference.
CG says
That’s because you have Republican Derangement Syndrome.
You seem to have had it for a while. Going all the way back to when you wanted us to die in a fire.
CG says
The Trump fans tell me I sound to them like a “Clinton Groupie.”
People hear what they want to hear.
scott says
Yeah and you’ve been a Republican apologist for a long time. Going back to when you defended a clearly racist woman (?) Who went by the moniker of Kentucky Republican.
CG says
I don’t remember what she said, or if I always agreed with her. Probably not I disagreed with a ton of the people on the right there, real or invented. I do know that whomever she was, the left sure did demonstrate their misogyny.
CG says
Which talking point? If anything, he steals from me.
I’ve been a conservative and a Republican a lot longer than he has been, and I don’t have to pretend either.
scott says
“I’ve been a conservative and a Republican a lot longer than he has”
Yeah that and 2 bucks gets you a cup of coffee.
This may be the first time you have admitted Trump is a “conservative Republican”. As I said–your transformation is complete.
CG says
No, he’s pretending t0 be one for his own self-interest. (it might be working at the moment, his JA in Gallup is up to 43%) And I don’t drink coffee.
Think about it. Over this whole Kavanuagh saga, people could turn on cable news and Trump was not even the craziest or most dishonest person speaking at any given moment. No wonder his polls have gone up a bit.
Don’t worry, any day now, he is going to do something really crazy!
scott says
Well unlike you I really dont give a shit what Donald Trump “really” believes. He is advocatimy conservative Republican policies and makubg conservative Republican appointments.
Maybe to tou it will be some big reveal if on his deathbed Trump clains to be a Democrat or Communist or Lyndon LaRoucher.
His legacy will be that of a very conservative Republican President. And to the people who triunph (the 1%) or suffer because of it ( most everyone else) the result will be the exact same.

Chief Justice John Roberts on Wednesday referred ethics complaints about the Supreme Court’s newest associate justice, Brett Kavanaugh, to the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Colorado.
The complaints, related to comments Kavanaugh made during his contentious confirmation hearings last month, were originally filed with the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, where Kavanaugh served as a federal judge before his confirmation on Saturday. I agree. Kav is where he is. What we do now is vote.
Republican Senators and Senate candidates are already overreaching on tbis with Kevin Cramer in ND dismissing thr Me Too movement saying something along the lines if tough prairie women don’t let themselves be victims and Mitch McConnell saying that Republican Senators were “assaulted” by those who peacefully protested.
I have even odds that one of rhem will be stupid enough to make an Akin/Mourdock type rape comment.
My Name Is Jack says
I’m sure Mitch was scared as Hell!

Cocaine Mitch has no fear.

There were no corroborating witnesses to prove Mitch’s claim that he was “viirtually under assault” so how can we be sure it happened?
