Houston?
We could have a problem here…
We just saw a Q Poll poll that had Republican Texas Senator Ted Cruz with comfortable lead of 9% points on Democrat Beto O’Rourke….
Now another poll with a small lead for the Democrat?
Things Are close….
Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) holds a two-point lead over incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in a new poll of their Texas Senate race.
The Reuters/Ipsos/UVA Center for Politics Poll released on Wednesday found that 47 percent of voters said they favored O’Rourke, while 45 percent said they favored Cruz.
The survey, which was composed among a population of 992 adults, had a credibility interval of four percentage points. It was conducted between Sept. 6 and Sept. 14.
A separate Quinnipiac poll released a day earlier found Cruz with a nine-point lead in a race that has drawn national attention, partly because of Cruz’s fame and party because Democrats have not elected a Democrat to the Senate in three decades.
O’Rourke, who has gathered a national following in the race, has boosted Democratic hopes for defeating Cruz, and neutral observers say the race is competitive….
Note…
The Real Clear Politics average lead for Cruz is 4% points….But they do NOT include all of the major polls in their average…
The Reuters poll has a MOE of 4% points…
Nate Silver @ FiveThirtyEight has reported that Texas polling tends to favor Democrats from actually final vote by several percentage points…
Update….
Third Poll released today has Cruz up by 3% points….
A new Public Policy Policy survey in Texas finds Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slightly ahead of challenger Beto O’Rourke (D), 48% to 45%.
That’s well within the poll’s 4-point margin of error….

Half-point change in RealClearPolitics’ spread between Trump approval & disapproval
40.7 % Approve
53.8% Disapprove
Net approval average: – 13.1 % (down – 0.6% from last Friday 14 Sept.)
Ratio of disapprove to approve: 1.32, roughly 4:3 — i.e. for every 3 respondents who approve of the President’s performance, about four disapprove.
