This IS turning out to be a good night for Andrew Cuomo who seemed to be a bit worried about the Cythia Nixon challenge …
He gets a return of his current Lt. Gov. probably….
He gets a Attorney General he backed….
And he got establishment people to do ads for him in the last two weeks….
I saw ads featuring Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden….
So even with all the Ocasio-Cortez media foaming at the mouth?
Establishment Democrats won the day in New York State….

It seemed like this was still closer than it should have been, considering his incumbency and advantages. Almost everyone agreed that Nixon turned out to be a dreadful and unlikable candidate.
Is she still going to run as the nominee of the Working Families Party?
I will check into that and this will be my “Race of the Day” tomorrow.

Yes Nixon did MUCH better then the polls forecasted ….
Losing 2-1 instead of 3-1….
She conceded early CG…
She ran a poor campaign in the end…..
Cuomo seemed to be running scared after Ocasio-Cortez beat Crowley….
And he ran HARD…
Was ALL over the air…
Got ads push from Clinton and Biden…
ALL the establishment Dem’s had his back…
He had a VERY good night…
I saw some poll that had Cuomo hurt if Nixon runs on the WFP….
But I’d discount that…
I don’t like Cuomo’s style, but he’s got the job for another 4 years….

make no mistake…
this WAS an establishment night in New York State…..
Democratic Socialist Dave says
But Democratic Socialist Julia Salazar did knock off State Sen. Martin Dilan in Brooklyn’s 18th District by a margin of 58% to 42%. (i.e. about 4 to 3).
Similarly among Rhode Island’s Democrats, Gov Gina Raimondo handily beat progressive former Sec. of State Matt Brown, while Lt. Gov. Dan McKee very narrowly beat progressive state Rep. Aaron Regunberg statewide, while progressives replaced moderates in many individual district races for the General Assembly (state legislature).

It works in some places
It don’t in others
But on the whole in NYS
They rowed to together to get what the governor wanted…

Cynthia Nixon’s only real base in New York City was liberal whites. Cuomo easily won African-American and Hispanic communities. He won every borough, with Manhattan being the only relatively close borough. #NYGOv #NYPrimary #NYCVotes
