That fucked up remark about the Arizona Senator, who was tourtured during the Viet Nam war , saying he would NOT support Trump choice for CIA Director, Dina Haspel, who supervised the American post-9-11 specail interrorigation programs by the CIA….
A White House official mocked Sen. John McCain’s brain cancer diagnosis at an internal meeting on Thursday, a day after the Arizona Republican announced his opposition to President Trump’s nominee for CIA director, Gina Haspel.
Special assistant Kelly Sadler made the derisive comments during a closed-door White House meeting of about two-dozen communications staffers on Thursday morning.
“It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway,” Sadler said, according to a source familiar with the remarks at the meeting.
The White House did not deny the account of Sadler’s remarks, which came amid a discussion of Haspel’s nomination and McCain’s opposition to it….
Update….
A White House official called Meghan McCain on Thursday to apologize after she mocked Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) cancer diagnosis during a meeting earlier in the day, a source told The Hill.
The Hill first reported Thursday that special assistant Kelly Sadler brushed off the senator’s opposition to President Trump’s nominee for CIA director, Gina Haspel, saying, “It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway.”
Sadler later called the senator’s daughter Meghan McCain to apologize, according to a source.
Meghan McCain has not publicly responded to the comments herself, beyond retweeting her mother, Cindy, who chided the White House official.
“May I remind you my husband has a family, 7 children and 5 grandchildren,” Cindy McCain wrote…..

via Twitter…..
Remember though that the ugly attacks on McCain predated his cancer diagnosis….
What @MeghanMcCain and @cindymccain have had to put up with in terms of attacks while their father/husband is battling brain cancer is absolutely disgusting. I’m glad that most people agree with me and I’m sad that there are too many who don’t.
Note….
My orignal thought was that Haspel would NOT make it thru the confirmation process….But it now appears that the members that I though would be against her confirmation due to her association with the black ops tourture programs are NOT focused on that, but are looking at her placement as someone who is from the inside of the agency….After Tillerson’s mess up over at State?…Senator’s seem to be will to overlook the past in hopes that agencies have leadership that is familiar with how things work in their departments….

That was a pretty crummy thing to say, particularly about a member and former presidential candidate of the current Presidents own party.
Then again, this is the Trump White House.
I’m surprised that there has been little outcry from prominent Republicans over this.

Really next to none Jack, because they support their Republican President no matter how crude he can be or what illegal things he does. He’s theirs and they need to protect him.
A couple of things before I get going, big event tonight in Calistoga and early morning flight tomorrow.
There was a story about how a group of Republicans were going to sign a discharge petition to pass a DACA fix. Of course the petition will have the support of all the Democrats, but it needs (I believe) 23 Republicans. The Republicans who have already signed were described as moderates — they are not now, or have they ever been moderates, they are traditional pro-business Republicans who understand the value of an educated immigrant workforce (and they have lots of immigrants in their respective districts). But, they aren’t moderates, the Republican Party now only has conservatives and crazy Freedom Caucus House Members. Look at their individual voting records and being pro-immigration (something many traditional conservative groups favor) does not classify them as moderate. Let’s see if they can get enough Republican signatures.
Two, the Republicans in Congress have now gone around the bend on the Mueller investigation. If, or when, Trump fires him there really won’t be enough of an outcry from the Republican side of Congress (the majority) to do anything about it. Remember, you heard it here first. The GOP slogan is now Party over Country.

I sure hope you are wrong about an American President who has taken over the party faithful by lying, misrepresenting realty and being scared of something it appears the Russian’s have on him that we don’t know but Robert Mueller could reveal….

I think I’ll be waiting awhile.

The media and politicians from BOTH parties won’t let the McCain comment go….
Meghan McCain openly wonders why the heck the guy who said it is still working in the Trump Admin?
“It’s a sad day in this country when White House officials are mocking a man who, while serving his country, was tortured as a prisoner of war. He’s more than earned the right to speak out on these matters,” Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) said in a statement, demanding a public apology from the White House…..

I think I pointed out before that Donald Trump has been the poster boy for calling people names since he arrived on the national political scene in 2016….
Therefore anyone who expects him to be the least bit bothered by a staff member dissing John McCain is wasting their time….
My Name Is Jack says
Sort of odd though.
After all we are told here daily that there are all these Republicans who eagerly like to buck Trump.
Well, here’s a grand opportunity and in the name of common decency..
But,yeah you’ll likely be waiting awhile.

“Why have no Republican U.S. Senators stepped forward and expressed their absolute fucking outrage about these attacks on American hero John McCain by a White House staffer? It is despicable and the cowardice is nauseating.”

Inside the room: White House flare-up over McCain leak
Sarah Sanders told staffers at a meeting yesterday about the McCain leaks: “I am sure this conversation is going to leak, too. And that’s just disgusting.” Her prediction came true. What follows is a leak from that very intense meeting yesterday, according to five sources in the room….
