The same companies that where happy to vote for Republicans and Donald Trump will now begin to feel the pinch from their political choices…
My bet?
These companies are gonna run out of workers…
In large swarths of jobs Americans will NOT work for either the pay or working conditions….
This will cause either prices to go up, more automatization or whole industries to switch to supplies form out of this country all together….
America has ALWAYS relied on labor from abroad just like EVERY OTHER country….
Lets see how this goes….
In October, Thomas Homan, ICE’s acting director, pledged to increase workplace enforcement by “four or five times,” opening a new front in an immigration crackdown that includes a 40 percent increase in deportation arrests and initial funding for a border wall with Mexico. In April, ICE agents made 97 arrests at a meatpacking plant in rural Tennessee with a helicopter flying above, reminiscent of the high-profile shows of force that were common during President George W. Bush’s administration.
Benner said the agency will focus both on criminal cases against employers as well deporting employees who in the country illegally. Illegal hiring creates unfair advantages for companies, encourages people to come to the U.S. illegally, results in document and identity fraud and exposes workers to potentially dangerous conditions without overtime pay or health insurance, he said.
It remains to be seen whether immigration authorities can perform enough audits to compel a similar degree of compliance that the Internal Revenue Service does on personal and corporate tax returns. One measure may be the number of employees who voluntarily enroll in the federal government’s E-Verify system to electronically confirm if a person is authorized to work in the U.S….
Here’s a prime example of Trump’s immiogartion efforts begiing to hurt the American economy…
Eddie Devine voted for President Donald Trump because he thought he would be good for American business. Now, he says, the Trump administration’s restrictions on seasonal foreign labor may put him out of business.
“I feel like I’ve been tricked by the devil,” said Devine, owner of Harrodsburg-based Devine Creations Landscaping. “I feel so stupid.”
Devine says it has been years since he could find enough dependable, drug-free American workers for his $12-an-hour jobs mowing and tending landscapes for cemeteries, shopping centers and apartment complexes across Central Kentucky.
So for years he has hired 20 seasonal workers, mostly from Guatemala, through the U.S. Labor Department’s H2-B “guest worker” program. Importing these workers for a few months cost him an additional $18,000 in fees and expenses beyond their wages, which must be the same as he pays American workers. But that’s the only way he could serve his customers.
Restrictions on guest-worker visas, which began during President Barack Obama’s second term as immigration became a hot issue for conservatives, have gotten worse under Trump. And it’s even more of a problem now that the unemployment rate is the lowest it has been in years….

Long overdue.
Obviously if you are going to “crackdown “ on illegal immigration, those providing the enticement,ie,”Jobs” must be targets too.
Interestingly though, the anti Immigration rationale has been not only the legal argument ,but that jobs were being taken from Americans. The obvious then being that Americans actually are demanding these jobs that the illegals are filling.Anecdotal evidence indicates ,as many suspected, such is not the case.

Here’s another piece , this one in the Wash Post on how Trump is actually screwing those businesses that THOUGHT he would be helping them…But is actually ruining their efforts to operate….
