And they could be playing for time against Trump trying to shut down the investigations….
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team told President Trump’s legal team that they can’t indict a sitting president, CNN reported Wednesday.
Rudy Giuliani, who is leading Trump’s legal team in the Russia probe, told the network that when it comes to the president, Mueller’s team can only write a report at the conclusion of its investigation. Such a report could outline wrongdoing or include recommendations for the House.
“They can’t indict. At least they acknowledged that to us after some battling, they acknowledged that to us,” Giuliani told CNN.
The decision not to indict a sitting president would align with Justice Department guidelines dating back to the Nixon administration that say a sitting president can’t be indicted.
Giuliani added that he believes the Constitution prevents the indictment of a sitting president.
Mueller’s team declined to comment on the matter to CNN….

I believe I mentioned here several times the existence of the White House/DOJ view that a President should not be charged criminally while in office….
I also posted here I believe something that a someone who has worked with Mueller in the past thought that Mueller is inclined to follow the DOJ view….

I’m STILL leaving sveral options open the Mueller and Rosenstein…
That same person also cautioned that there ARE those who dispute that view and the guy I mentioned made sure to say that it would be up to Mueller and finally Rosenstein if they followed the DOJ directive…..
Oh, and listing Trump as a unindicted co-conspirator by a grand jury (In several cases) would be pretty damaging to his tenure in office , eh?

I pointed out that astounding poll result last week wherein 55% of All Americans(not just Trump supporters) believe that it is likely ,or are at least open to the possibility ,that he is being framed right now.
The OVERALL damage I believe would be horrific….

If you really believe that ,then why would you think that just because Mueller (who most of them regard as a villain who is trying to “frame” Trump )are going to be so worked up about him being named an unindicted co conspirator or anything else for that matter that they will abandon him?
Finally ,to believe that a supreme egotist ,like Trump ,would be so intimidated by such a move that he would just up and quit seems pretty far fetched in my view.

A. You really need to accept the fact that the 13% is from a voluntary internet survey and is not a scientific number
B. Regardless, you need to accept that a whole bunch of the 87% (maybe not anyone here except the lurking NYC) just do not care.
In politics, there are many things that may happen, including I suppose he decides to quit, but that’s fairly unlikely, or that he does not seek a second term, although that might be unlikely too, so if you guys (the Democrats) do not find a way to beat him in an election, especially a theoretical traditional two party election, you are going to be absolutely losing your minds, if he survives that.
Right now, a Democrat beating him in 2020 is far, far, far from a certainty, 13% or whatever. People will go with the “devil they know” over what they view the Democrats as offering as an alternative.
