I’ve just finished reading the book by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan….
For a political junkie like me?
The Review of the last year and half’s Trump admin’s actions was welcomed…..
That said….
The book DID reinforce the way Trump , a Real Estate , guy from Queens , New York City has gone about governing for a second term….
The book pointed over and OVER the difference in a new American Presidency, and it’s restraints, and having a second term, in which a President has gone about ignoring , and going around those past constraints, rules, regulations, and even laws….
How Trump has made sure to hire yes men and women to ‘dance’ for him and his ‘gut’ actions as their mission to carry out….
In Trump 2.0, there are still those who the book point out express concerns and worries…..
BUT?
Unlike in his first term?
We see a Trump that presses on in any way following Roy Cohen, who had schooled him back in the day, ‘to never give up’….
Emboldened by a Alito court grant of Immunity?
Donald HAS embraced ‘I AM the President’!
This has flowed down to subordinate’s , who have been pushed to rip up past practices with no regard , knowing their boss ‘has their backs’…
Trump’s 2.0 actions HAVER laid bare something profound ….
The Office of the President of the United States DOES HAVE powers that have NOT been tested up to now….
And?
Curtailing or even stopping those powers , actions and policies seem to have been beyond Congress , IN the Beginning…(Congress…The Senate seems to have dug in its heels recently)
Media hand wringing about ‘losing Democracy’rang out for months….
At First?
ONLY Federal Judges countered Trump & Co. who, egged on by one Stephen Miller, chose to ignore them , leaving Justice Dept. lawyers to get beat down’s by judges….
Those judges HAVE continued showcase that the Courts can and DO stand up to a freelancing President….
The book points to the numerous examples of Trump’s success in asserting power Domestically , In immigration , Use of the National Guard, and following Elon Musk’s wish’s forMassive Cuts in Government employees….
But?
Being led around by Elon Musk also exposed the NYC Real Estate guy to a Reality….
Running a Government for more than 330 Million People is NOT like running a Real Estate company or even Twitter , the social media company….
And?
In the beginning of the end for Musk and DOGE?
Trump’s cabinet members revolted, lead by Marco Rubio, in a White House meeting, actually helped Trump’s staff get a hold of their departments and spell the end for the Musk experiment in government spending and service’s …
Opposite the Trump domestic actions?
The book points out Trump’s failures in Foreign Affairs….
Enamoured by his ‘love’ for autocrats , and his lack of remorse for how those people get, and keep their power, and their use of fear?
Donald Trump has made strategic economic and military mistakes that cost America Prestige , lend to Ridicule, Hard feeling’s, a suffering US economy, and armed conflicts , STILL on going, that Trump has NOT been able to stop, and extract himself from…..
The book is a ‘tell all’ one that shows that Haberman an d Swan HAVE gained access to those next to the throne , who have worries and fear ‘s…..
But HAVE made Donald happy, as he has watched those who despised him, turn around and kiss his ass, to get into his good graces to join his rickety try at governing….
The history books will NOT be kind to Donald J. Trump…..

But the man HAS changed the way the following American Presidents WILL govern…
The next President….
Most likely a Democrat in reaction to Trump mess left?
Will have some of Trump’s tools to use, while making sure others get buried….
This is a Book that SHOULD be Required Reading and studying American Presidential history in the 21st Century….(Over 500, 000 sold in 6 months!)
And the people that WILL be running America in the near Future….
