Donald Trump IS trying to cut back the number of Americans from having their votes counted….

Using the bull shit that there is rampant voter fraud?

He’s trying to get the US Post Office to do his dirty work and stop millions of mail-in ballots from getting to bed counted….

And?

He’s trying make people show ID to vote in states that do NOT require that…..

His efforts would not only stop and Hurt Democratic voters….

But would also hurt Republicans voters also….

 

Mail-in ballots go out to the public in several states in less that a few weeks…..

One can only hope that the ‘Supreme’s’ can put together enough sense and stop this guy from grabbing state’s control over national voting, like Constitution says….

The country’s first mail ballots for November are due to be sent out this week — but the method used by one-third of voters has a cloud of uncertainty hanging over it.

The prospect of new U.S. Postal Service rules to tighten up mail voting and demand voter lists from states, given new juice by a Supreme Court decision last week, could inject some last-minute logistical chaos into election administration.

For President Donald Trump, the USPS regulations would achieve the crackdown on mail voting he’s long sought in an effort to stamp out election fraud, despite a lack of evidence that such fraud exists on a broad scale. The Postal Service would refuse to deliver ballots for states that don’t comply. And the Justice Department has dismissed worries about the changes as “doomsday assumptions.”

But to some Trump critics and election experts, the current mail ballot fight in court looks like a portent: They’re on high alert for potential election interference or subversion from the Republicans who sought to undermine the 2020 results.

“It’s another blatant and obvious attempt by the Trump administration to pick their own voters,” Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes told Playbook. “This is a piss-poor policy, and it’s being recklessly shoved down the throats of the entire nation because of one person’s grievance.”

Many observers are skeptical the rules will be implemented in time for the midterms, with new legal challenges flowing in just as fast as old ones hit a roadblock. The administration appealed the latest judicial freeze Friday. Even if the Trump administration prevails, courts may choose to wait until next cycle to allow the regulations to take effect, as time runs short.

But if they do kick in now, state election officials may have to scramble to comply at an already hectic moment in the calendar — and in many cases with already stretched resources.

“In this moment, they’re just believing and hoping that the courts will step in and prevent this from happening because there’s no way that they can do what is being asked of them,” said Tammy Patrick, a mail voting expert and chief programs officer at the Election Center.

Trump has questioned the reliability of mail voting for years despite using it himself, repeatedly and falsely denigrating the practice as rife with cheating. Though the Postal Service didn’t respond to requests for comment, it argued in the regulation that “the visibility and law-enforcement benefits of the rule, including for this election cycle, are such that there is no compelling reason for any delay.” The new rules would give the federal executive branch a greater role in election oversight.

Trump said the Supreme Court’s initial move “was a great ruling for the Republican Party” and “the way we want to make [mail ballots] legitimate.”

The plausibility of implementing the Postal Service’s rules would vary from one county to another in the decentralized election system: Larger jurisdictions with greater resources might be able to absorb more change or already be following best practices. Smaller, rural offices, where packets are still stuffed by hand, could struggle.

Though the Postal Service is ironing out its technical processes, NOTUS reports, some officials say significant errors are inevitable with this time crunch.

“It would be really hard to implement without sowing chaos and confusion over the ’26 elections,” said GOP election lawyer Ben Ginsberg, who noted that cracking down on mail voting may not necessarily help Republicans in competitive races, where rural voters who lean red depend on it.
