She may trail Newsom actually in California.….
But?
She isn’t running for California Governor….
Polling switched TO Harris for some reason around the end of February….
Around that time she released her ‘107 Days’ Book and went traveling….
(I’ve read the book…It’s a frank look at her 2024 abbreviated campaign…The book has sold )
We now have reports that Harris is going to travel again.…
Things ARE bouncing around….
But Harris IS rebounding among Democrats….
And we COULD assume she’s testing the waters and working help her polling numbers MORE….
A stunning new 2028 poll shows former Vice President Kamala Harris trailing a fellow Dem in her own home state of California, the Washington Examiner reported.
A UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies/Los Angeles Times poll found California Gov. Gavin Newsom leading Harris 28% to 9% among California Democrats for a hypothetical 2028 presidential race.
The poll is striking considering that Harris was the 2024 Democratic candidate for president and had a long political career in California.
Harris was state attorney general and a U.S. senator from the Golden State before becoming vice president.
The poll could highlight some Harris vulnerabilities if she seeks the White House again, including diminished dominance in her own state compared to Newsom, who is perceived as a stronger opponent of President Donald Trump.
Poll co-director Cristina G. Mora said that while Californians have mixed views on Newsom’s governorship, they overwhelmingly see him as the most effective foil to Trump’s MAGA politics.
Harris’s earlier presidential defeat and persistent voter biases against women and candidates of color may also be influencing her weaker state-level support, the poll showed.
The former veep has been promoting her memoir of the campaign, “107 Days” and has launched initiatives like Headquarters to combat misinformation.
Harris has ruled out running for governor of California, saying it’s “not my calling,” but has hinted at a possible 2028 presidential bid in multiple interviews.
Nationally, she maintains a lead in Democratic primary polls, though her support among independents has declined compared with late 2025 levels…..
