The American President buys himself some time to ‘jawbone’ Iran into talks ….
I do NOT think this may work with Iran…..
Trump IS walking himself into lanching a attack against Iran it would seem….
President Trump said Thursday that he would decide in the next 10 or 15 days whether to continue diplomacy with Iran or order a military strike.
Why it matters: U.S. and Israeli officials tell Axios a military operation against Iran would likely be a massive, weeks-long campaign — and could begin within days.
What he’s saying: “Now we may have to take it a step further or we may not. Maybe we are going to make a deal [with Iran]. You are going to be finding out over the next probably 10 days,” Trump said during the Gaza Board of Peace meeting in Washington on Thursday.
- Several hours later Trump told reporters on Air Force One en route to Georgia that 10 days “would be enough time. Ten, fifteen days, pretty much maximum.”
The latest: Amid the U.S. threat to launch a military campaign, the Iranian UN Ambassador Amir-Saeid Iravani sent a letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and to the members of the UN Security Council warning of an Iranian retaliation.
- “In such circumstances, all bases, facilities, and assets of the hostile force in the region would constitute legitimate targets in the context of Iran’s defensive response. The United States would bear full and direct responsibility for any unpredictable and uncontrolled consequences,” he wrote.
State of play: Trump convened his top advisers on Wednesday for a meeting on the crisis with Iran….

Iran holds military drills with Russia amid tensions with US
Iran on Thursday held military drills with Russia amid escalating tensions with the United States, after President Trump gave the Middle Eastern country a 10-day timeline for the U.S. and Iran to strike a deal over the latter’s nuclear program.
Russian sailors conducted the drills with Iranian forces in the Gulf of Oman and the Indian Ocean with the goal of “upgrading operational coordination as well as exchange of military experiences,” according to Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency.
Iranian navy Rear Adm. Hassan Maghsoodloo told the London-based news outlet Iran International that the drills were intended to promote security and sustainable maritime interaction.
The drill exercises follow Iran’s launch of five missiles toward the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday that struck targets as part of other large-scale maritime exercises, the semiofficial Tasnim News Agency reported. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ naval drills are dubbed “Smart Control of Hormuz Strait.”
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei earlier that day sent a stark warning to the U.S., which has amassed its naval presence off Iran’s coast. The U.S. sent the world’s largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, to the Middle East after it was deployed to Venezuela’s coast prior to the U.S. capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro…..

UK blocks Trump from using RAF bases for strikes on Iran — and he is already retaliating
The UK is blocking President Trump from using its military air bases for a possible attack on Iran — because the lefty government believes such strikes could violate international law and doesn’t want Britain implicated, according to a new report.
Trump has already hit back by slamming the UK prime minister’s plan to resolve a long-running dispute over a strategically crucial chain of islands in the Indian Ocean.
The White House is drawing up plans for a possible military strike on Iran that involves the use of the Royal Air Force base Fairford in England — which is a forward operating base for America’s heavy bombers, the Times reported….
…
Trump reportedly spoke with Prime Minister Keir Starmer about the plans Tuesday night, and UK officials were worried that giving the US permission to use the RAF bases for a military attack could breach international law, according to the Times.
Trump made a direct reference to the UK base in Diego Garcia — part of the Chagos Islands in the Indian Ocean nearly 6,000 miles from Britain — plus RAF Fairford.
He said the military facilities were necessary to attack Iran if the Islamic Republic fails to reach a nuclear deal with the US…..
Note….
Remember Obama’s ‘Red Line’ Syria chemeical weapons threat that Never produced action?
If Trump does NOT get a Iran ‘deal’?
What does he ACTUALLY Do?
