Renee Good’s Wife Releases Statement About ICE Shooting
The wife of Renee Good, the woman shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis on Wednesday, released her first statement since the incident.
“Renee sparkled. She literally sparkled,” Becca Good said in a statement given to Minneapolis Public Radio. “I mean, she didn’t wear glitter but I swear she had sparkles coming out of her pores. All the time. You might think it was just my love talking but her family said the same thing. Renee was made of sunshine.”
Becca Good thanked people for the outpouring of support since her wife’s death, and spoke about the couple’s move to Minnesota with their son.
“What we found when we got here was a vibrant and welcoming community, we made friends and spread joy. And while any place we were together was home, there was a strong shared sense here in Minneapolis that we were looking out for each other,” she said. “Here, I had finally found peace and safe harbor. That has been taken from me forever.”
Becca Good said she and her wife, who she described as a Christian, “stopped to support our neighbors” on Wednesday.
“We had whistles. They had guns,” she said.

Minnesota officials ask public to submit ICE shooting evidence after FBI cuts ties
Minnesota officials on Friday asked the public to turn over any evidence that may be relevant to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer shooting and killing a local woman this week, after the FBI iced out state investigators.
Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty emphasized at a press conference that the state has jurisdiction to investigate and decide whether to bring charges, despite the Trump administration’s move to revoke its access to case materials.
She said her office would provide a link to submit videos of the fatal shooting to preserve evidence, expressing concerns that the FBI might not share its findings.
“We do not yet know if there will be sufficient evidence without the FBI case file to even make a charging decision,” Moriarty said.

GOP lawmakers question Noem’s handling of ICE-related shooting in Minnesota
Republicans on Capitol Hill are expressing skepticism over Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s handling of the Trump administration’s response to an Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) officer fatally shooting a woman Noem has said was committing an “act of domestic terrorism.”
Noem’s hasty characterization of the shooting as an entirely justified use of federal force against a woman who “weaponized” her vehicle has raised questions on Capitol Hill and differed in tone from other senior administration officials.
“It was very unusual to have a senior law enforcement official to draw a conclusion about an event where the scene was still being processed,” Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said of Noem’s conclusion that the shooting was in response to a domestic terrorism incident.
“I believe that she gave the president advice — and I hope she’s right. But generally speaking, law enforcement would recognize that a life was lost, that families are changed forever, the shooter’s life will change forever, we’re collecting video, we’re trying to assess the situation,” Tillis said.
“That didn’t happen,” he added. “Either Secretary Noem has a lot of information that she will share with us in the coming days that formed a basis for advising the president, or she communicated too soon.”….

ICE is NOT a department that American’s support….
G. Elliot Morris: “ICE’s approval rating has collapsed since Trump took office — from +16, according to YouGov/The Economist polling last February, to -14 as of November.”
“In a flash poll conducted on Wednesday, ICE’s job approval came in at 39% approve, 52% disapprove for a score of -13. That’s statistically indistinguishable from the -14 in November. I’ll be watching how this changes.”

Minneapolis Mayor Doubles Down On Calling On ICE To ‘Get The F— Out’ Of The City
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey on Friday defended his earlier comments demanding that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to “get the fuck out” of the city after an agent fatally shot a 37-year-old woman there.
“I stand by my statements,” Frey said.
“I dropped an F bomb, they killed somebody,” Frey said. “Which one of those is more inflammatory? I’m going with the killing somebody.”
