It won’t work…..
Trump and Zelensky has ANOTHER face to face talk…
Trump says he wants to talk to Putin?
Last time he got played…..
Even with the Tomahawk threat it probably won’t work AGAIN….
How about a pitch to dig a tunnel from Russia to Alaska and name it for Trump?
Update added below….
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky came to Washington hoping to convince President Trump to supply his country with Tomahawk missiles, but Trump said at the top of their meeting that he hopes that won’t be necessary.
Why it matters: The Ukrainian side wants clear decisions from the U.S. about what weapons it’s willing to send, with Tomahawks at the top of the list, Zelensky’s chief of staff told Axios before the meeting. But Trump said that after his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, his focus is on bringing the war to a swift end.
What they’re saying: “I think President Zelensky wants it done and I think President Putin wants it done. Now all they have to do is get along a little bit,” Trump said.
- Trump surprised the Ukrainians by announcing, shortly after Zelensky arrived in Washington, that he would be holding a summit soon with Putin in Budapest.
- Zelensky reiterated at the top of the meeting that he is ready to meet Putin any time, anywhere, but the Russian leader has so far refused.
- Trump said he knows there’s “a lot of bad blood” between Zelensky and Putin, and therefore it might be easier for him to hold separate meetings with both of them in order to reach a deal.
The intrigue: There’s been a months-long cycle of Trump declaring peace within reach after speaking with Putin, only to be disappointed….
…
- Zelensky even said during the meeting that Ukraine is willing to effectively trade its drones for U.S.-made Tomahawks.
- Trump confirmed the U.S. is interested in Ukraine’s drones, but said the U.S. needs Tomahawks for its own security and seemed to pour cold water on the idea of supplying them any time soon.
- However, he said having Tomahawks on the table could encourage Putin to talk. “They are very dangerous weapons. It could mean an escalation. Tomahawks are a big deal,” he said….
-
Trump showed hesitance on supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles. He said: “One of the reasons we want to get this war over is…that it’s not easy for us to give you … massive numbers of very powerful weapons … Hopefully they won’t need it. Hopefully we’ll be able to get the war over with without thinking about Tomahawks.”
-
Zelenskyy emphasized Nato and security guarantees as part of any peace deal with Russia. “First of all, I think we need to sit and speak. The second point, we need ceasefire… We are ready to speak in any kind of format,” he said, adding: “Nato, for Ukrainians, is very important… But the most important thing…for people in Ukraine, which are under each day’s attacks, to have really strong security guarantees.”
-
Trump said that Melania Trump’s push to help return displaced Ukrainian children in the war was her own decision. “She wanted to do it. She just felt very strongly about the children. And she’s done a really good job,” Trump said. Last week, the first lady announced the return of the children followed an “open channel of communication” she had with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Trump called himself the “mediator president,” adding: “I love solving wars.” Talking about his mediating efforts around the world, he said: “This is number nine. Okay, this will be number nine for me. I’ve solved eight, including the Middle East… I didn’t get a Nobel Prize…so I don’t care about all that stuff. I just care about saving lives. But this will be number nine.”
-
Zelenksyy said that he believes Trump has a “big chance to finish this war.” Speaking to reporters, Zelenskyy added: “President Trump really showed for the world that he can manage [a] ceasefire in [the] Middle East and that’s why I hope that he will do this and we will hve a big success for Ukraine… I hope that President Trump can manage it.”
-
Trump also said that there is a lot of “bad blood” between Zelenskyyy and Putin. ‘These two leaders do not like each other, and we want to make it comfortable for everybody. So one way or the other we’ll be involved in threes, but it may be separated,” Trump said.

- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump met at the White House on October 17 and discussed ongoing US support for Ukraine and efforts to the war
- The Kremlin continues to employ a dual-handed rhetorical strategy, leveraging economic proposals and veiled military threats in an effort to simultaneously pursue normalizing US-Russian relations and deterring US support for Ukraine.
- The Kremlin is reducing its financial incentives used to recruit volunteer soldiers, likely as part of the Kremlin’s efforts to restructure force generation efforts and centralize control over Russian recruits in an effort to sustain its protracted war in Ukraine.
- Russia’s short-range and long-range drone strike campaigns continue to disproportionately impact civilians in Ukraine.
- Ukraine’s European allies continue to provide military aid and support Ukraine’s growing defense industry.

Update…..
Trump urges armistice at current battle lines in Ukraine after Zelensky meeting
President Donald Trump on Friday called for Russia and Ukraine to stop fighting at their current positions to settle the bitter war between the two nations — a proposal that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he accepted as a starting point for further talks.
The proposal was made during a West Wing meeting between the two leaders where Trump sought to replicate his success earlier this month in halting the fighting between Israel and Hamas. It was the latest effort by the U.S. president to cast himself as a global peacemaker, but his chances of success were far from clear as he gears up to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in coming weeks….
Note…
Zelensky’s postion has been STRONGLY AGAINST THIS….
He has said he cannot do this without changing his countries constitution ….
Of course Trump and Putin think this point is nonsense …
They tend to do WTF they want to and have their people ok it afterwards….
