Agents also arrested Miami Heat player Terry Rozier, a former first-round draft pick, in Orlando, as authorities allege he participated in a sports betting operation. He was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
A total of 31 people were charged in a pair of federal cases, includingformer NBA player Damon Jones, who was also taken into custody, according to a person familiar with the situation. Jones played parts of 11 seasons in the NBA, from 1998 to 2009, including five seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was implicated in both the poker case and the sports betting probe.
Details surrounding the arrests and related charges were not immediately available. The Department of Justice planned a 10 a.m. news conference Thursday, which included FBI Director Kash Patel and Joseph Nocella Jr., the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York…..
